Jason, if you were a first time borates adder like me, which method would you recommend? The boric acid route or the borax and MA route? Both seem very similar in price.

It was super quick and simple to replace. I certainly got lucky on that find. The funny thing is, the pump sounds quieter this year.

The AquaRite manual wants there to be calcium in the water. I am not sure if this is just general pool thinking like Leslie's will tell you. If the AquaRite really needs it, I would like to know since I just switched to an AquaRite SWG. Do we really need the calcium up to their recommended...

Pat, thanks. I found several places that had this online, but had no way to tell if they are reputable. Luckily a local pool store that I deal with, has a used housing and is getting it to me for cheap.

Hello All, My whole pump with housing has the model number: 1UMF-S It's a Jacuzzi Magnum Force. Just the strainer housing is cracked. Is there a good website or any pool part dealers that are members of this site that can help?

I have a TF-100 already, and a K-1766 Taylor Salt test kit and borates test strips coming in the mail. The my own testing hasn't been done yet since it got done filling at 10PM last night and I've been at work today. It makes sense to merge the two. Thanks again.

What would you use to drain the pool? I have 2 levels in my yard. The pool is on the higher side. I will pump from the higher to the lower. Just don't know what to use. I assume a rental pump would work.
