    freshwater fish question...

Anyone know of a freshwater aquarium test kit that is similar to the TF100, inasmuch as you look for the color change for the endpoint as opposed to comparing to a card? I'm currently cycling a tank that seems 'stuck' and I feel like NONE of the colors ever match my samples.... What do I even...

Intex SWCG install on non-Intex plumbing

Finally up and running! Got the FC a bit too high before the install, so am waiting for that to drift down.

Intex SWCG install on non-Intex plumbing

Well, All did not go according to plans. After 3 or 4 trips to the ACE hardware store, we discovered there was an adapter include in the box with the SWG. duh. But we were still missing a connection. So we ordered another adapter, a piece of regular (non-intex) 1.5" plastic hose, and will get...

Thanks everyone... after letting all this sink in overnight, I believe I have a plan! Carol :thequeen:

Intex SWCG install on non-Intex plumbing

I just purchased the Intex Krystal Clear SWCG. It comes with threaded compression fittings on the hose, and threaded inlet/outlet on the SWCG itself. All of my plumbing (Hayward skimmer and return eyeball, PolyGroup/SummerWaves pump and filter combo) is non-threaded, so how exactly do you...

Do you dip for each test OR fill a jar and do tests with a single container of pool w

I use a 1/2 liter water bottle and put it in upside down as far as my arm will reach, turn it over and fill 'er up! Enough for testing and rinsing. I also splurged on the Sample Sizer which makes measuring a breeze.

    Intex 15K gal SWCG

thanks! I read the ECO thing and thought it was just some confusing and clever verbiage concerning how the SWCG works. If it is not harmful, then I'm going to go for it.

    Intex 15K gal SWCG

Does anyone know if the newer model of the Intex SWCG contains the copper plates? If anyone with any experience with this SWCG could let me know how it works (or not) I'd appreciate it! Amazon.com : Intex Krystal Clear Saltwater System with E.C.O. (Electrocatalytic Oxidation) for up to...

How to determine filter and pump needs?

My start-up filter pressure is 6.5 That was before I put in the skimmer. The 'green zone' on my pressure gauge goes to about 11.5, and my pressure has never gotten nearly that high. Did not add DE, as it does not seem that the stuff is actually ever making it to the filter. In any case, Where...

How to determine filter and pump needs?

Thanks Mark, The debris sinks to the bottom of the pool pretty quickly, but for whatever reason will not vacuum up. I expect that it is a combination of 'debris is too light' and 'pump is too weak'. I can vac up leaves. It dawned on me after reading your reply that I did not have an issue with...

How to determine filter and pump needs?

I've got a 20'x48" frame pool (8200gal) with a 1600 gph pump (? best info that I could find) and a 12" sand filter. The pump is plugged in to a GFCI outlet on the house wall. The plug is also GFCI. I upgraded to a Hayward skimmer and plugged the original suction hole. I've had trouble keeping...

The vial that comes with the Speed-Stir is the proper one for use with the Sample-Sizer. Win-Win!
