Not enough suction at 1500 RPM?

Thanks very much, Jim. It may have worked the same way before and I didn't notice it when I wasn't taking care of the pool. I didn't realize that a heater requires more pressure, but it makes sense if the water has further to travel, it needs more pressure. I appreciate your help. Thanks for...

Not enough suction at 1500 RPM?

Thanks, Jim. The pressure at 1800 is 8 (I raised it bc 1500 wasn't doing anything at all). The pressure at 2850 is 15. I tried cleaning out the impeller with a screwdriver without taking off the housing, but nothing was in there. Next step may be to take off the housing and clean out the...

Not enough suction at 1500 RPM?

Thanks, Jim! My pool has a weir door, yes. It has a heater, but I never use it. The skimmer basket is catching nothing and I see small debris/pollen float right by it (at 1500 RPM). When I put my hand in there, I can feel the section is very weak. The second pump is for a waterfall that is...

Not enough suction at 1500 RPM?

Hi guys. I just took over taking care of my pool and it's been going okay, but I don't think the suction is working well enough as the pool has looked a little cloudy and there is detritus at the bottom of the pool despite the chems looking good (Leslie's testing). The pool is about 12,000...

    First test

Thanks for the local info. We're billed by unit here, too. 14 units at 2.93 per unit, then 4.60 over that amount. I have to figure out how much that works out to be, but I assumed it would be a huge multiple of $40!

    First test

Thank you for the info. Obviously my pool company was not doing the job well (or maybe even at all). Sounds like this is going to cost me quite a bit to get fixed. 😩

    First test

I'm not sure I'm following. Are you saying I need to drain 75% of the water in my pool? If it matters, no one will be in the pool for at least another month. Water costs a fortune here, so if there's an option to draining, I'd take it. Also, if the pool is THAT BAD, I'm contacting the company...

    First test

I just retested to confirm results. FC is 29 (58 drops to clear solution) CC 0 (solution stayed clear) CYA was about 100, so I did the CYA Dilution Test recommended by Newdude and got about 70. Water temp is 64 degrees. Not sure what to do next, but I know the chemistry is way off. In terms...

Okay, thanks. It's late now, so I'll do it tomorrow. Thanks again for all the help!

    Running VS pump on max?

I read this after I tested, but it will come in handy anyway. Thanks for taking the time to write it up!

    Running VS pump on max?

I made a new post in the appropriate testing area. Thanks for the help, Newdude! I'm the newernewdude, I guess. 😁

    First test

I'm using the TF-100 kit. FC was 55 R-0871 drops before the solution went clear. Divided by 2 = 27.5. I added 5 drops of R-0003. The solution turned slightly pink, so added 2 drops of R-0871 and divide by 2 for CCs. I just did a CYA test and that was not even 100. I'm guessing it's 120...
