    Replacing pool light

I need to replace my pool light. It's an inground light with the cord that runs about 50 feet. Just replacing the bulb isn't an option as the housing and cover plate are beyond repair. The cheapest replacement options I can find are a llittle over $200. Does that sound about right and does...

    Motor running, water not pumping.

The motor recently failed. I had a friend help replace it for me. It is a Hayward Super pump 2. It worked for a couple days. Now it is not pumping water. The motor is running. There is kind of a grinding sound in the area of the impeller. I removed the basket and checked for a blockage and could...

    I need a new filter.

I am currently using a Hayward De3600 and the filter housing is cracked. What are some recommendations for a suitable replacement and where I could get one at the best price? I would prefer a filter that would connect to the fittings that are already installed, so I just have to screw in the...

    No circulation, water not pumping.

The pump is running. I have tried setting it to the skimmer, vacuum, and both. The skimmer basket at the pool and the basket at the pump are empty and there are no visible obstructions. I came home to see this. I turned the pump off and opened the basket at the pump. There was water inside, but...

Does anyone have suggestions for pool dog toys?

Other than tennis balls. My dogs like the foam noodles, but they can get torn up pretty quick. Does anyone have an idea for durable toys that are dog/pool friendly?

    Once MA always MA?

"Many species of algae are really just single cells. These cells can survive out of water for long periods of time, often as a resting phase, like a spore. The spores are literally everywhere in the atmosphere of earth. They are kind of like pollen in that regard. If you sterilized your pool...

    Mystery

I wonder if it is ever the case for a bottle of bleach to be an abnormally higher % than the label says.

    How Long SHOULD Chlorine Last?

What is your CYA level? Did you test it yourself? From what I have read on here 4 ppm a day isn't unusual if you get a lot of sun. Bather loads and how much leaves and such drkp into your pool are also factors. I am at close to 2 ppm in Cenrtal Fl, but I get a good amount of shade and have a...

    Chemicals and evaporation???

I have read about a member who uses rainwater runoff from the roof to help fill his pool. I am also in Central Florida and haven't had to add water in some time. Even with a good backwash every couple months, I am at a pretty high level. You must have more direct sun, or perhaps a leak.

Chem question about PH accuracey when FC is above 10.

There are chlorine neurtalizer drops when conducting a TA test. . Why can't drops be added when the FC level is higher to get an accurate reading of PH?

Borates and a sparkling pool ...... This website rocks!

What ppm did you add to your pool? I recently went to 35 ppm and can see a difference. I am thinking of going a little higher.

I was editing to add the screened enclosure from my phone. It's a little hard to navigate the site from it. It should be fixed now.
