Why is Polaris 280 just filling with water and no debris

Good call on cleaning the bag. I used some mild detergent and that seems to have made the bag more porous. The Polaris is now able to pick up debris.

Why is Polaris 280 just filling with water and no debris

Checked the jets when the booster pump was off and they were working fine.

Why is Polaris 280 just filling with water and no debris

Maybe a combination of water and air. I just know that previously the bag would get filled with debris and now it gets very little debris. I have tried swapping out the bag with a different one, but that makes no difference. And yes, I am fighting algae currently. Am in the midst of a SLAM...

Why is Polaris 280 just filling with water and no debris

Hi, I have a relatively new Polaris 280 that I purchased last year. This season it seems whenever I check the bag for debris it is filled with water instead. I would think the bag would be too porous to just hold water but that doesn't seem to be the case. Have tried opening the zipper slightly...

    Problem during pump motor install

Just wanted to send a last update on this one. I was not able to get the brass part off myself after trying lots of different things. However, I discovered a local machine shop and took the pump motor to them. They were able to grind the brass part off without damaging the drive shaft. Cost...

    Problem during pump motor install

Agreed on the stupid slot! No way to get inside either. I don't own a Dremel but am checking with a friend to see if he might have one I can borrow.

    Problem during pump motor install

Unfortunately my pump motor just has a flathead slot on the back end of the shaft. I have tried using some vice grip plyers to hold the screwdriver and a channel lock on the brass end, but it just keeps spinning.

    Problem during pump motor install

I was able to break off the plastic part of the impeller and am left with the situation in the attached pic. How can I get the rest of it out? Thanks.

    Problem during pump motor install

I have been trying to get as much torque on this thing as possible and still no luck. I somehow managed to break off the tips of a couple screwdrivers in the process. Maybe this is a stupid question, but is there anyway to safely cut off the impeller without damaging anything else? Maybe with a...

    Problem during pump motor install

I thought I was home free on the pump, but have run into another issue. After running it for a few days, I noticed that the pump was leaking. I took it apart and checked the gaskets -- they seemed ok. I put everything back together and did not see the leak; however, I quickly noticed a smell...
