Good call on cleaning the bag. I used some mild detergent and that seems to have made the bag more porous. The Polaris is now able to pick up debris.

Agreed on the stupid slot! No way to get inside either. I don't own a Dremel but am checking with a friend to see if he might have one I can borrow.

Unfortunately my pump motor just has a flathead slot on the back end of the shaft. I have tried using some vice grip plyers to hold the screwdriver and a channel lock on the brass end, but it just keeps spinning.

I was able to break off the plastic part of the impeller and am left with the situation in the attached pic. How can I get the rest of it out? Thanks.
