    Slam will have to wait....

Yeah I had a small blow up pool last year and exclusively used chlorine tabs, or superchlorine powder (Whatever that was). My CYA had to be sky high and towards teh end of the season the water was grody and I had to dump, probably due to the fact that the chlorine could no longer work.

Drip drip drip from return jet

you can reduce the amount of water pouring through it by trying to stick a ziplock bag into the jet a little so water doesn't come rushing through the hole.

13' x 30" inflatable about 1600 gal hard city water

The issue with floating chlorine dispensers is that they also put CYA in your pool. CYA is a stabilizer and at the right levels it's keeps the chlorine in your pool while the sun beats down on it. BUUUT CYA is also a "hump" for your chlorine to get over, at appropriate levels it means you need...

    Pool Opened, now what?

I've learned through lots of reading that the pool places mostly exist to sell you chemicals and may not fully understand what they tell you to put in and how it reacts to everything else. Need more chlorine toss tabs in :ncool: they're "easy" . I'm new to the pool scene myself (Had a small...

Looking to get started with limited resources for now

it's city water, with a salt water softener, sadly the hose water is also softened, for some reason after filling I noticed a bit of a salt drop. I'll be grabbing the recommended test kit in a week or so, my current kit only shows TC up to 5, which with a CYA of 30 I'm already approaching the...

Looking to get started with limited resources for now

Nope no chemical elixirs, I'm a highly diy guy and I'd want to know exactly why and what I'm doing to my pool. I have chlorine and cya and some tabs leftover from my old blowup pool well see what else if anything I need after I get my cya in.. hoping that my chlorine doesn't exit the water as I...

On the electrical side, please make sure your pool outlet is a GFCI with a wet use cover. The video for my Bestway pool says USE GFCI OUTLET, and then they plug it into a 3 prong non GFCI outlet with a wet when closed cover, I was shaking my head. Have fun dealing wit code and getting your...

Looking to get started with limited resources for now

Okay so here's the deal, I've blown most of my pool budget on leveling, chemicals, test kits for which I didn't know any better. I have a 16'x48 AG pool. 1. am I okay for a bit relying on what I can test with this test kit? I'll be getting the taylor kit soon but just not ready for it yet...

Don't use an extension cord, if you don't have power within reach of the pool, get someone to put it in, your code may require you to have an electrician put it in anyways. If it were me and I needed a trench and a post I'd put the electric in after doing a level and maybe I'd really wait until...
