Warm Climate People - need advice

This is my first year with my pool in AZ. In the past I've had small above ground pools and in the winter I just ignored them. I am sure that isn't the best practice. I was wondering from the Warm Climate people, during the fall/winter when it will be too cold to swim, how often are you...

CSI in my vinyl IG pool

I normally do the 10ml sample, but on occasion I like to do the 25ml sample just to get a little more precise number.

CSI in my vinyl IG pool

So, I ran the full gamut of tests today and was pleased with my numbers, however I became concerned about a number that I noticed in Pool Math. When I input all my numbers, the CSI shows -0.94. That seems really low, but I am not sure if it is anything to be concerned with. Here are my...

    Toad in the pool

Alright, got my Taylor 2006 kit today, and did the testing. FC = 2.8, CC=0.6 (gonna need to fix that) PH=7.4 and CYA=35. I am gonna have to get some more CYA, as the recommended for the SWG is higher than that.

    Toad in the pool

I put the pool information in my signature, but it doesn't seem to be showing up. Maybe it will with this post. I bought the standard k2006. The pool is a 20k gal inground pool. There doesn't appear to be any more visible algae. I am running the pump 24/7 right now which might bite me in...

    Toad in the pool

ok, I bit the bullet and bought the 2006 test kit. It will be here in a couple days. I will monitor things closely over the next few days before the test kit comes in.

    Toad in the pool

I wish I would have looked closer at the computer screen at Leslie's. I had them test the water a couple weeks ago and their printer was down so they didn't get me a print out. He said the water looked as close to perfect as possible. I glanced at the phosphates and the salt level and didn't...

    Toad in the pool

My test will do Chlorine up to 5ppm, Bromine, Total alkalinity, Acid Demand and PH. I am looking to order one of the big kits, I think it is like 89.99 on Amazon. Here is my confusion - I had a great year with the pool. The Chlorine Level stayed at 2ppm all summer long and the pool stayed...

    Toad in the pool

Unfortunately i don't have one of those really nice test kits. It is on my list of things to get, and when the budget allows I will get it. I have one of the cheaper 5 way tests from Home Depot that has the Chlorine Test drops, PH, TA and 2 others I can't remember off the top of my head :)...

    Toad in the pool

So, I have been really busy all week and haven't had the time I usually have to monitor my pool chemistry. So, yesterday I went out and checked the chlorine - it was 0 and I noticed quite a bit of algae growth in the pool. I have a salt cell, and the system has been running each night. My...

    Looking for a replacement impeller

After a further online search and process of elimination, I think I have found it. It turns out that this SplaPool Pump is also sold under the Valterra Brand, the Blue Wave Brand, and the Reliant Brand. I believe that I have finally found the part that I need on poolpartsonline.com SO, if you...

    Looking for a replacement impeller

I have a SplaPool 72744 pump that the impeller is damaged. Without knowing the proper name for what is broken, I will try to explain it to you. On the front of the impeller there is a collar. That collar has broken. The pieces had wedged themselves in the impeller. I removed those, so it is...

Hi all, I'm brand new here, but not new to pool keeping. I grew up with an above ground pool, and up until a few months ago had only dealt with above ground pools. My wife and I just put in a Vinyl Liner In Ground Pool in Arizona, and so far have been loving it. I'm looking forward to learning...
