That's what I think it is too. It's a pain to scrape off. Would you expect to have to do that for yourself?

Yep...we can see the bottom perfectly....still flushing sand.

Sorry...no...still flushing sand. No obvious problems in filter but we will top up sand.

Filter cleaned. From running the hose down from the pump the skimmer basket filled with sand. What a mess. I just keep pumping more water through and getting more sand out. I have no idea how all of the filter sand got into the pool. Please keep helping us!

I did try threading the hose down and didn't meet any resistance. I've just asked him to try that again and maybe go further. I told him to stick the hose into the filter sand to clean that out too...is this the right way to clean it? I reached into the impeller like I always do and found...
