Opened pool, tested CYA with it possibly being under 30

Retested everything, passed over night test etc. The PH dropped to what I think is 6.8, probably from all the salt I added. I have some borax i can add to help raise it. Whats the best method for this?

Opened pool, tested CYA with it possibly being under 30

Thanks. So going forward when I open next year, let it circulate for 24 hrs then test for CYA? How much LC should I add in the mean time while I scrub etc? On a side note, I tested last night and it was 12.5, with .5 CC, this morning it was 13.5 with .5 CC. So far so good.

Opened pool, tested CYA with it possibly being under 30

Opened the pool for the summer and first thing I tested was the CYA for SLAM. As this test is my least favorite, I did it multiple times and it trended towards barely being able to see it past the 30 mark in the tube. Sand Filter problem or something else?

I didn't install the pump, but I'll check. Would a poor seal for the multi port and filter tank cause air suction as well? And for the second, part, you're right. I'll wait till closing.

Sand Filter problem or something else?

When the pump is running, around 1600 or 1800 rpm. I notice some bubbles in the basket (and the lid was checked for tightness), but I was told that was normal when running at lower RPM. I changed the pump at the beginning of the season when it was opened. Didn't have sand issues last year prior...

Sand Filter problem or something else?

Filter is old. I'd say at least 10 years at this point. At the beginning of the season, I replaced the pump with a VS as the one I had stopped working. (It was on its last legs anyway) Since then, I've had gurgling sounds coming from the Filter and an occasional bubble or two in the returns...

I am horrible with colors. PH testing.

Not sure if I'm looking at 7.8 or higher on this. Unfortunately the phones always give their own tint to it making it rough to take an accurate picture.
