    Lifespan of our vinyl liner?

Thanks @JoyfulNoise! And @wireform, thanks for the bead lock suggestion. Will save that for our new install for sure!

    Lifespan of our vinyl liner?

Thanks @wireform - that's helpful perspective. The part that's out of track isn't new - probably at least 2 -3 years old, and I've not been able to get it to stay in at any point. Leaning toward spring (or whenever) 2025 at this point.

    Lifespan of our vinyl liner?

We built our in-ground 29K gallon vinyl liner pool in spring of 2009 - so it is now over 15 years old. The original dark blue is now pretty faded, but other than a very short (maybe 8" section) where the liner has pulled slightly from the coping, it is functional and seems leak-free. Based...

Aluminum sling chairs - revive or replace?

Thanks for the reply and the pics - looks like the project turned out really well! I'll definitely do some googling. There is a sandblast / powdercoat shop or two nearby that I can reach out to.

Just a little nudge for visibility... ;)

Recurring "annoyance-level" algae... what am I doing wrong?

That's good advice... I would probably do better if I paid daily attention instead of weekly - allowing for finer tuning of things, and slower ramping up as you suggest.

Recurring "annoyance-level" algae... what am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, my CYA is a tad higher than I'd like. It was too low at the start of this season, Pool Math told me how much to add - but I must have mis-read something and overshot a bit. I also stopped using my solar cover years ago when the third one finally disintegrated. It...

Recurring "annoyance-level" algae... what am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the reply... Your points are good! Somehow in my mind I was thinking my FC was high-ish - shows I shouldn't trust my memory. Definitely could be some algae lurking - it is almost impossible to get the ladder steps totally brushed off. I've always opened just with the SWCG - I only...

Recurring "annoyance-level" algae... what am I doing wrong?

Longtime TFP follower here... Pool particulars in the signature. For the past couple (maybe three) seasons I've had minor-ish pesky green algae. Pool opens great in mid April - crystal clear. SWG is consistently doing its job - FC is currently around 7, so a bit high perhaps for a SWG pool...

Aluminum sling chairs - revive or replace?

We have a set of 6 sling chairs & two chaises that are 15 years old. The slings are starting to fall apart and the chair finishes are faded. In a couple of cases the finishes are actually coming off. That said, the aluminum is in fine shape overall, and we still like them. These are Garden...

    Couple of AA treatment questions

Thanks for the input! Just to be safe I went ahead and ordered the AA from Guardian, one of the suppliers recommended on here. Price looks to be pretty close to the Amazon stuff I linked anyway. I decided I'd better keep the wheels in motion as I usually close the pool in mid-October and I...

    Couple of AA treatment questions

Over the past couple of seasons, I've noticed a gradual discoloration on our white fiberglass steps (pool is about 14 years old). It is very mild yellow/tan - definitely nowhere near as bad as some of the pics others have posted on here. Last season I tested it with vitamin C and it whitened...

    AutoPilot Tri Sensor Replacement

Thanks Allen! I didn't come up with any good suggestions for removal, so I ended up ordering a combo kit of the sensor and the section of plumbing that it plugs into. It wasn't really that much more expensive than just the sensor alone, and will hopefully let me get things back up and running...

    Opinions, regrets?

Absolutely love the SWG - I wouldn't go back. One thing I've discovered, though, is that the mild salt exposure has gradually eaten away the ladder & handrail sockets in our concrete deck. So I'm eventually going to have to replace them somehow. But that's it. I spend very little time on...
