Aqualink Sheer Descent pump now acting like a light

Update.... I figured it out. System Setup -> Color Lights -> Jand Colors and then changed AUX2 (which is the Sheer Descent) to not have JL, JC, SL, or CL with it.

Aqualink Sheer Descent pump now acting like a light

I have an Aqualink Touch., PDA-PS6. There is a sheer descent pump that does not have any lights associated with it. Recently, when I enable the Sheer Descent pump, it ask for a light color and then do the normal jandy power light power cycle. So essentially hard starts / stops several...

Can you run a pump off a generator?

In theory, you should be able to run the Pool and Home Heater off of 22KW Gen. I have a 24KW Natural Gas Generac Gen at my house. My house is Natural gas-heated. So the question is, "Is your house electric or gas heated?". If Gas, make sure you have a large enough gas line to supply both the...

    Aftermath.

Hah... luckily I survived this year in TX. I had a scare when the pool temp dropped to 31 and ice started forming on the surface. I decided to try my JXI 400N heater to warm it to 42 and it was throwing all kinds of codes. After cleaning the sensors and clearing the codes ("All 3 buttons...

Where can I get replacement for Spectrum 360 Blue lights?

I am in the same position. Two of my 3 lights have failed. This website advertises them. https://tspoolsupply.com/products/blue-square-spectrum-360-led-light-white-200040-wt But $499 per light is a lot. I have not reached out to my pool builder to see if they would sell directly to me...

Two motors have shorted - can't figure out why.

Glad you got it fixed. Honestly, those seals are $25 to $8 items, which to me is an expendable part to replace. It only takes an additional 5 - 10 minutes to do it.

    R0446000 O-Ring replacement

I am looking for O-Ring sizes for the R044600. Jandy only lists the Part Number for the plug and O-Ring. I just want to order the O-rings. I am slowly building up a stockpile of spare O-Rings and parts for all my pool equipment.

    Heater bypass

@JamesW Do you have a reference to install a flow switch into a non-salt water Aqualink? Basically, trying to figure out the wiring into the control panel so that it shuts off the heater when no flow is detected.

    DE Fill amount

I had to dump the filter to replace the drain plug O-ring. I didn't backwash or clean the grid, it emptied the filter of water and loose DE. I put 5 measured lbs of DE back in via a slurry. I have had to replace a lot of O-rings after having the pool for 3 years. Just been working my way...

    Heater bypass

Interesting. That is a much simpler design with fewer parts.

    DE Fill amount

Yea, I measured out the weight on a small scale. It was just that the table makes no sense and I was wondering if I was missing something. Basically, 1 orange DE cup is between 18 to 14 oz depending if packed or not.

    Heater bypass

Added a heater bypass last night. Used these 2" ball valves. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09ZTVF5MV?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details After the initial movement of the ball, it is very smooth. My only complaint is that the Orings can call out when placing the valve body. But with...

    DE Fill amount

I have a Jandy DEV60. Looking at the manual, page 9 Table 2 it states: Model No. DE Quantity (lbs.) DE Quantity (kg.) No of 1 lb. Coffee Cans DEV48 5.0 2.0 10 DEV60 6 2.7 12 Am a bit confused about understanding the table. It appears I should use 12 1lb Coffee Cans to coat the grid...
