I have high-ish chlorine demand and CC levels, just wondering if using 100 ppm chorine for 30-45 min is enough to replace the need for a product like ahh-some or spa purge when changing water.

OK thanks again for the info. Really the chlorine smell was only a problem when I just got my drop test kit and was still learning. I mainly use it for convenience to put off a chlorine shock for a few days. Gonna cut back on the MPS usage and keep a little on hand for the occasional hot tub...

I had another sorted of unrelated question: With the CC test regarding MPS interference, I know Taylor makes a reagent to fix it, but without that, how long after adding MPS (say less than an oz) can I test CC without having to worry about the interference?

Yes I am doing 10 ml test. The directions don't say anything about use 1 dipper for 10, 2 for 25. Anyway it does turn pink after adding one dipper. Thanks for confirming!

I recently got a FAS-DPD chlorine test and the instructions say to add 2 dippers of powder. I know its better to add more than you need. But I'm curious about, Why 2 dippers? How much chlorine does 1 dipper of powder bond with? (Not sure I phrased that correctly..) If I'm expecting a reading...

What he said ∆ Generally you want 50-70 TA, it should be low enough to prevent the pH rising from aeration from jets. That and clean your filters every few weeks.
