    TF-Pro Salt

Good to know... Perhaps only test a couple of times a year? Right now my SWG reads higher (around 3200) than what the salt test gives me (2800). Any thoughts on why that would be? I'm not too worried (or should I be?) as I understand it we want enough salt for the SWG to do it's job but...

New owners - something to check

We just bought a house with a pool and I'm on the learning curve to figure how to take care of it. TFP has been a great resource. One item I recommend folks who bought a house with a pool do is to check in whether the prior owner replaced any items with an incorrect part number. I was...

    TF-Pro Salt

I bought the TF-Pro Salt a couple of weeks ago. Initially it can seem daunting to use... but go slow and follow the step by step instructions... Now that I've used it a few times it's become much easier and faster to run a test. The ones I have the most difficulty with are the CYA and pH...

Identify purpose of these pool components

Yep, I finally happened upon an underground PVC valve near the house that turns on water to this pipe. Funny thing is that this valve is further away then the hose bib next to the pool. It's much easier to just throw the hose in the pool and turn on the water! ...but now I have a thought ...

Identify purpose of these pool components

Good stuff :) Thank you. I know it's not strictly necessary but it's nice to include in the spreadsheet while I'm at it. We have hard water here in San Diego so its nice to have some sort of indication other than CH which tends to run high when water is added.

Identify purpose of these pool components

Off topic here but perhaps a quick question, can you identify a post that shows an equation for how Calcium Saturation Index (CSI) is calculated? I've done quite a bit of searching this site and google but haven't found one yet ... closest I came to so far is chem_geek's pool-water-chemistry...

Identify purpose of these pool components

That's the pressure line from the middle pump (return from pump confirmed). When the pump starts, a lot of bubbles come from it.

Identify purpose of these pool components

BTW, I I just clicked your link and became a supporter. I have to say I and extremely impressed with not only your help but also all the wonderful information on the site. It has really helped make me more confident with pool ownership. Truth be told, I really didn't want a pool ... my wife...

Identify purpose of these pool components

No skimmer for the spa. Only two I believe. In addition to the two spa drains shown, there is only a return port which is less visible in the photo I posted.

Identify purpose of these pool components

Thank you so much... Brilliant deduction ... guess I should have provided before but photo below shows spa indeed has two drains. I hadn't noticed before but I just tried rotating the middle jandy valve again and sure enough watching the spa I see it drains with only the far left suction line...

Identify purpose of these pool components

There is no label (the partial tag in the side view above was my jumping to the conclusion it was main drain before I did the test). System photos below. I did confirm the Jandy actuator on the far left diverts to either Pool or Spa. Also it moves automatically from Spa only to pool and spa...
