Is this laundry bleach okay for shocking a bromine spa?

I can't do anything but agree with TheBraLady, thank you MPurcell! I've read the Bromine sticky thread probably 10 times or more by now but totally missed the relationship between MPS and Bromine levels and how you use it to bump up the Bromine after each use.

Is this laundry bleach okay for shocking a bromine spa?

I use the 3 step method from the Bromine sticky thread. I didn't (and still don't) have any sodium bromide however but I crushed 6 Bromine tablets after filling. Active oxygen seem to be another word for MPS--potassium monopersulfate so even though it was expensive it's usable :) The pool store...

    Low CH and cloudy water

I went to a pool store that told me to not bother with CH (it's not a problem here in Spain according to him?). Anyway, I bumped up the Bromine levels and the water got crystal clear. Now I have TA 30, stable 7.4-7.6 pH and 0.5-1.5 ppm bromine.

Is this laundry bleach okay for shocking a bromine spa?

Thanks for the responses! I went to a pool store nearby and got recommended and bought "SpaCare Oxicare gr (Oxigeno activo)", product link: Oxicare granulado Google translate on the above link says: Rapidly dissolving active oxygen for disinfection and maintenance of chlorine-free water. It...

Is this laundry bleach okay for shocking a bromine spa?

I bought these two laundry bleaches at the store, the first one is powder and the second is liquid (if it matters). "Blanqueantes oxigenados" translates to "Oxygen bleaches" on google translate and I can't find sodium hypochlorite (google translate: hipoclorito de sodio) written anywhere. Are...

    Low CH and cloudy water

@Swampwoman, thank you for your reply and welcome! The SP 331 have a ozonator that runs every filter cycle, from what I've read it's "better" to do Bromine because of it? Have a vague memory of some other reason Bromine was the better choice here, could it have to do with the weather or...

Good Bromine test kit in Europe (Spain)

Of course! I payed €115 + 21% IVA for the actual kit and around €10 for shipping from Barcelona to Costa del sol.

    Low CH and cloudy water

I'm totally new to this but been trying to read up here on troublefreepool. I've moved to Spain and the apartment I'm renting have a SP 331 Villeroy and Boch Spa. These are the chemicals left by the previous owner (I don't even know what some of it is or how/when to use it) and I bought a Taylor...

Good Bromine test kit in Europe (Spain)

Thanks for the reply @JoyfulNoise! I managed to get a Taylor K-2006 (the K-2106 would take 3 months to ship) from HornerXpress Worldwide, Taylors international distributor. So if anyone else is looking for Taylor in Europe, contact them :)

Good Bromine test kit in Europe (Spain)

I'm renting an apartment with a Villeroy & Boch SPA on the terrace and am trying to learn how to maintain and take care of it. I read the brilliant sticky guide (How do I use Bromine in my spa (or pool)?) and am now looking for a test kit. The Taylor K-2106 is mentioned as the best test kit...
