CH is a little high. How should I lower?

So there really is no "good" way to lower CH other than a partial drain and refill? If the evap/refill just raises it, I am guessing that a partial drain and refill is in order every 2-3 years or so.

IC40 reading low but water tests at 3400 ppm

Yesterday was sunny and got up into the upper 80's and the IC40 was lit up all green and pretty. Water test this morning showed that it produced chlorine yesterday. This morning it is in the low 60's and it is not longer lit all green and pretty. I am guessing that the water temp droped over...

CH is a little high. How should I lower?

Here are my current readings. FC: 5.5 PH: 7.5 TA: 120 CH: 450 Salt: 3400 Should I do some water replacement or is it close enough that with summer and the weekly evaporation/top off regiment, will it work itself out?

IC40 reading low but water tests at 3400 ppm

Ahh, After the second push of the More button I get Low and Cold Water are both Red while Cell is Green. Then all of the sanitizer output lights flash. I guess its a bad temp sensor? Not sure the exact temperature of the water but I am guessing it is in the 60's.

IC40 reading low but water tests at 3400 ppm

I saw this test in another thread and decided to give it a shot but my results are very different than everyone else. Before the tests the lights are as such Salt Level Low: Red Status Cell: Flashing Green Flow: Solid Green Sanitizer Output 20%, 40%, and 60% are lit When I run the test it...

IC40 reading low but water tests at 3400 ppm

So I have been pouring liquid chlorine into my pool for weeks now and haven't been able to keep my chlorine up. My IC40 was showing that the salt was low so I added a bag of salt here or there (didn't have a good saltwater test kit at the time so I was relying on the IC40 to tell me when to...

Best robots for steps and benches

Great to hear! I have been reading up on your other thread and am leaning towards giving the Discovery a shot. The grotto and benches are over a foot deep and that was the confirmation that I was looking for. Looks like I am going to make a purchase today. Is there any difference between the...

Best robots for steps and benches

The Grotto is unreachable outside of the pool and when the water temp is <80 degrees I remain outside of the pool as well :(

Best robots for steps and benches

I am about to make the jump and purchase a robot to assist with the pool cleaning. We have a 18x36 pool with an 8' deep end. There is a grotto, 2 benches, and a tanning ledge with steps. Are there any robots that will hit the benches, steps, and grotto? I understand that the tanning ledge...

New Pool Build - Central Oklahoma

Thanks Suz and Scootr! I did take the one pic from the top of the waterfall and it look much higher when you actually get up there. One of my great concerns when building this pool was the whole deep end vs no deep end debate. You read mixed reviews but I am SO glad we did a deep end. I...

New Pool Build - Central Oklahoma

I haven't checked-in in a while and we have had some more work done that I thought that I would share in case it gives others some ideas. This forum was invaluable for me in that regard when I was in the building process.

New Pool Deck - Cracking Issues - Resolution Options

So I have had this 1 salt divot that I could never get cleaned out. I just thought that maybe all the dirt funneled there for some reason. Upon further inspection it appears that the concrete right there is only 1/4" - 1/2" thick. What could have caused that? Sorry for the quality of the...

    Yet another Texas pool build!

I am convinced that an anal retentive PB could make a TON of money as it seems that shoddy work is the rule rather than the exception. Pretty disappointing and disheartening to tell the truth.
