This site has been very helpful. Here are some pictures of my pool's progression since finding TFP!

    Shock process and metal sequestering

Pool is looking much better since sequestrant. It has been about a week since adding 2 quarts of Jack's Magenta Stuff. I was not expecting it to remove the stains from my liner, but it actually has. Not like an AA treatment, but if it continues to remove the stains while I maintain chlorine...

    Shock process and metal sequestering

I have been calling around trying to find Jack's Magic pink stuff. I read online that it works well for iron and can be effective at high chlorine levels. Unfortunately, the retailers near me carry the product line but not the pink stuff. They told me the magenta stuff and purple stuff would do...

Ok, sounds good. Last night I finally passed the overnight test. Measured at 13 FC at night, and 13 FC this morning. I think I will let the chlorine come back to normal levels, and add Jack's Magic Pink Stuff sometime this weekend. Keep me posted on your pool as well.

No. We have not unfortunately. Trying to get everything in line first. Today I took off all of the covers on the jets and skimmer to see if anything was behind. I did find what seemed to be algae. I scrubbed down the areas and it all came off pretty easily. I wouldn't call it "a lot" of algae...

There is no light in there. However, when I get algae it usually is most visible around the jets, stairs and skimmer. It seems to form in the hidden areas. I took a toothbrush and scrubbed in all the gaps I could find. Maybe today I will take off all the covers and see whats hiding back there...

Once again, did not pass the overnight test. I seem to be losing 4ppm of chlorine overnight the past couple nights. When shocking, do you usually see the loss overnight become smaller until you reach less than 1? Or is it possible that I could be losing 4ppm every night and one morning it holds?
