well, i am working with my pb to hopefully get it replaced under warranty.. crossing fingers! a replacement of a pentair 3/4 booster is like 280$

My pentair booster pump refused to work when I opened Today. It has power, actually got warm. Shut off power and began troubleshooting. Initial thought was capacitor. Then I checked the shaft. It's seized. It's exactly 3 years old. Looks like i could rebuild, but is this what to expect? 300$...

HELOC for us for the about 1/2 the costs. variable rate- its up to 5.25 now i think. about another 1.5 years and she will be 100% mine. we throw lots of extra money at it each month.

i have always done my own testing and treatment. new pool so i wanted a "pro" to handle opening and closing to cover my butt. so much for that.

follow up to this- he returned my filters. I installed them then proceeded to get my pool into shape. my polaris wasnt working right. hardly moving... took it apart and found it was all clogged up with debris from recieveing the unfiltered water. collateral damage. ugh. what a pain this became...

as others have suggested- add bleach, then use the SWG to maintain. learned that the hard way too. use the pool math function to find out how much to add.

in the same boat now- read my "worst pool opening ever" thread on the opening closing subforum. ignorance is not a issue usually- its when they start making up stuff to explain what they dont understand that bothers me. basicallly any type of lying or dishonesty is the worst.

He responded this am saying he thought his helper installed them.... More lies. Like he wouldn't notice 4 big filter cartridges in the back of his truck. I specifixally asked him if he installed them and he said he did. Unbelievable

rented a 2" trash pump and vacuumed it best i could. maybe got 80% out- the water was murky still so it was tough to see in the deep end. put in stain inhibitor and will do it again in a few weeks. hopefully, the rest will settle out by then.

Again, pool pump and stuff will stay winterized till May. Gonna skip the floc, and simply vaccuum it good this weekend. Then add stain inhibitor. Maybe vaccuum again if needed in a week or so. There was still ice on it when we pulled the cover off.

I bought "swim best super floc out"- thats what my local pool store had. I read a bit on it and it says it has no alum. I plan to add tonight and run my little pump as a recirculator for several hours, maybe overnight as its not very powerful. Either way, I have to vaccuum the pool this...
