Ph Meter and the Taylor drop test

So... Do I keep it stored in a solution of some sort? How long do I let it sit in the pool water to get an accurate reading? How often are these things supposed to be calibrated?

Not sure what the brand is, it doesn't say. The back of the meter has CE embossed on it. Here is a picture.

Ph Meter and the Taylor drop test

Bought an electric pH test meter. It didn't come with any instructions for calibration. It did come with 3 packets of powder that gets mixed for the low, med and high pH tests for the calibration however. It did NOT come with any instructions about how to use and how to store. It did say it...

Pool Heat Pump vs. Gas Heater vs. Both vs. Hybrid Heater

Hi, that was an old post you replied to. We are in Florida. The temps in the winter somewhat resemble Wisconsin summers in that the nighttime temps can get into the 50's where we are. To follow up, we ended up going with both a gas and a heat pump. I primarily use the gas to heat the spa...

    Pentair EasyTouch randomly interrupts schedule

I thought I would chime in. When our intellicenter didn't seem to be following the schedules I set, I learned that after we had a power outage, the time and date needed to be reset. Then it all worked as it should. Food for thought.

Heating the Spa and not the pool

Merry Christmas! Update. I heated the entire pool during the day with the gas heater from 64 degrees to 80 degrees in about 8 hours. We have been using the solar cover over the spa when we want to use the spa and it has substantially cut down on the amount of time it takes to heat just the...

Pool Heat Pump vs. Gas Heater vs. Both vs. Hybrid Heater

Hi Tim, here we are almost 2 years after this post. Finally moved into our home about 2 months ago. We did both as well. My water temp does get into the 60's at night. During the day, without heating anything, the water temp is about 74. Haven't even tried to heat the entire pool yet as we...

Heating the Spa and not the pool

Hi all. So I thought I would bring a little closure to this post. My pool builder came to look at my pool situation. He said my spa is 1,700 gallons. He told me it is larger than most and will take a while to heat the spa. He said to expect about 1 degree every 3 minutes. So to go from 60...
