    Taylor vs TF-100 Regents

I'd check the size of the reagents you get with each test kit. The TF-100 comes with bigger size reagents to begin with than the Taylor version. I made the mistake of buying the one from Leslie's locally.

How to convince my wife and FIL that BBB is the way to go

This is very similar to my post last year. http://www.troublefreepool.com/how-to-convince-your-so-or-others-that-bbb-is-safe-t16059.html After a couple months last year, I haven't heard another thing about it. I've gotten a lot of complements on my pool. In fact this year around the 4th of...

    Is shocking necessary.........

Here is a really good post on Chlorine and how it works: http://www.troublefreepool.com/chlorine-cya-chart-t2346.html?hilit=chem%20geek Be prepared to get a headache if your not a chemist, although there is a tremendous amount of great information in it.

Just refilled my pool and took first readings...

My PH went down right after I added CYA, but it's since came back up on it's own. I don't know if Calcium Chloride would do the same or not.

Shadows on the bottom of my pool liner??

Is it only along the seam there? It looks darker in the middle right along the seam to me. Could be a leak?

    Losing Prime While Vacuuming

Is the place where you attach the hose at the skimmer above the water line? You can try removing the skimmer basket to see if that is causing a problem. Just my two cents, although I'm by no means an expert

    Calcium Deposits on my ladder

I was thinking something along those lines. Just wondering if there was another way I might have missed or if somebody else had a similar problem and what they did to correct it.

    Calcium Deposits on my ladder

I've never used it before or know where to get it. I got the PH Down to lower my PH because I figured it was a safer alternative than acid. When I hear acid I get a mental picture of Harvey Two-Face.

    Calcium Deposits on my ladder

Just got a new house last year with a pool. The ladder has these white deposits on them that look like little beads. I'm assuming they are calcium since last year my CH was 210 and they were there when I got the house, so no telling how long they have been there. This year I got a new liner...

    Eating my words-better than bugs!!

I have problems with backswimmers, which are similar to waterboatmen, but they bite where I've read that waterboatmen don't. I haven't been bitten and don't want to. I've done a lot of searching and found that some people recommend BioGuard Back Up Algaecide to get rid of them, because it...
