Copper or Iron Stains, which to remove first

I am learning I am more financially drained which makes draining the pool less of an option. One more question, would tackling only the Iron stains be possible without replacing the water? If not I may need to set this aside until next spring. Thanks Allen again for your input.

Copper or Iron Stains, which to remove first

Hi Allen, After the ascorbic treatment and use of the pink stuff sequestrate is it possible to rid the water of the cleaned off metals by cleaning my DE filter once or more within a couple of days? Then after cleaning the DE filter using the same method with the copper stain removal treatment...

Copper or Iron Stains, which to remove first

Yes copper and Iron stains. I just drained my pool 75% to get my CYA down to 40 and I’ve just finished SLAM. Now I am moving on to stain removal. I am open to suggestions for what order and how to remove both types of stains.

Copper or Iron Stains, which to remove first

I have an original (older) Paddock pool that has a copper lined intake to the pump. Over a 9 year period I believe the copper stains were introduced from poorly maintained water balancing and the iron stains from fertilizer dust. I have a couple of pics to show where the stains are currently at...

    Balancing New Pool Water

All of the above is confirmed. FC is drifting down, now at 11.5 and I'll test again during the day to stay between 7-10. Thank you so much for confirming and I'll be reading up on the link about stains.

    Balancing New Pool Water

I am at 24ppm at the 24 hour mark of the final shock with a couple of questions, Should I just wait for my pool to drift back to 7 ppm before taking a full set of measurements again? How long should I wait before addressing iron and copper stains?

    Balancing New Pool Water

I passed my OCLT this morning with FC 1ppm loss overnight and 0 CC. I was looking around on the threads wondering when I should begin testing again for Ph and found the following thread telling me I should finish my yellow algae SLAM with the last 24 hours at a higher FC. I'm sharing this in...

    Balancing New Pool Water

I updated that incorrect Ph log, thank you for catching that. Understood on the difference between stains, I do notice a lighter mustard algae-looking stain near what I think are copper stains. I’ve been brushing and vacuuming each day. Thank you everyone for your input, I can’t say this enough.

    Balancing New Pool Water

I'm sharing where I'm at, the beginning of SLAM day 3 to see if the amount of chlorine I'm using seems normal. (I began my SLAM the evening of 09/08) At my last 4 hour interval test at 6pm forDay 2 my FC dropped 5ppm (avg drop 4-5ppm between each test during the day each day). Day 2 total...
