TX Dust + steps and tanning ledge = ??? Which vacuum do we need?

I’m hoping to vacuum rather than sweep. When I sweep it get mixed into the pool, and the wind blows it right back on to the steps/ledges.

Why is it calculating weirdly… I’m sure it’s me...

Pool is 40’x20’, 8 ft deep end, 3.5 ft shallow. Pool builder estimated 38000 with the spa. Calculators estimate about 35000. Hoping to verify it using the calculation of FC. Maybe? It was a new shipment to their store. Our water is very soft out of the ground. The chlorine doesn’t have...

TX Dust + steps and tanning ledge = ??? Which vacuum do we need?

We are in TX and when the wind kicks up in the summer, dust! And it is a clay like dust so it settles fast. Looks like mud. We have a Pentair Racer LS w/ booster pump and it does a good job at what it does. It stirs the dust off the floor of the pool, but then the dust ends up on the stairs...

Why is it calculating weirdly… I’m sure it’s me...

I’m sure it’s me, but need someone to tell me why! I have used the app for several years with my old pool, moved houses so new pool (new build). I must have a setting wrong. My pool gallons are set to plaster, 38000. My Test Kit is TF-100, and the reagents are about 6 mths old. I needed FC...

    New pool in DFW TX

Hi All, I had a pool in PA for several years and used the TFP method with the full test kit, Pool Math, etc. We have moved to TX and are opening a new pool in a month or two. I'm starting to look at liquid chlorine, wow the prices have gone up! We are considering switching from the 1 gal jugs...

Bought a home and over my head

I'm so impressed with TatianaP! Diving right into the thick of it. Just want to send encouragement, we have had our pool (first one owned) for a few years now and love this method. I went into a pool store last week to buy a few things and there was a line of people waiting to get their water...

Raypak 405K propane heater - won't turn on

Our heater won't turn on. Help? We opened the pool turned on the heater, it ran for 3 days and got the pool up to 80 and maintained it no problem. Last night we asked it to heat the spa, and it didn't work. I'm not sure if the request for the spa heating is just a coincidence? Last night...

    CYA Gone?

My CYA completely disappears every winter without fail. I drop the CYA sock at the same time I bring the pool up to SLAM after opening. It all works out, and the lower SLAM LC requirements are an added bonus.

Coming chlorine shortage? - It is Here!

Last year was horrible, constantly searching multiple big box/grocery/farm stores and finding no bleach that didn't have additives (even our pool stores were low and they are so expensive). I decided I never want to play Where's Waldo with bleach again. It made being a pool owner stressful, and...

    Closing in-ground, keeping spa open?

Hi all, Our spa can be separated from our pool and be kept open when the pool is closed this winter. We haven't done it in prior seasons but this season with COVID we think it might actually be used. Anyone with experience doing this? I have never had a stand alone spa and don't know the...
