    Polaris 9300 problems AGAIN

My Polaris 9300 stopped working a month ago. I had installed a new floating cable in 2011 after the unit stopped working after 1 year. It was under warranty. Now the warranty has expired. I ordered online a new floating cable 2 weeks ago from Aquaquality Pools out of NY. I installed it yesterday...

Sorry I didn't see your post. That isn't right. It's supposed to be completely closed, no gaps.

    Polaris 9300 robot

Are you talking about where the mesh canister is housed? The hood that snaps together? Or the bottom? When I installed the floating cable a few years ago, I remember when I put everything back together, it didn't snap together tight. So I unscrewed the bottom and made sure everything lined up...

    Polaris 9300 robot

It is probably your floating cable. My Polaris 9300 stopped working in 2011, only a year after I got it. Luckily it was under warranty. Leslie's told me they'd send it off for several weeks. Polaris sent out a new floating cable to me and I installed it. It wasn't easy. Now my Polaris 9300 has...

    Curious algae question

Great question Richard. I hadn't fertilized before the massive rain storm. But the run off did come from several yards elevated from my yard. But by looking at their yards, they don't fertilize. I have zoysia, so I dont fertilize until late April early May.

    Curious algae question

Today I added stabilizer in a sock in the skimmer to elevate the CYA levels. I know the FC was 7 and the CYA was 0 this past Sunday. Once the CYA level gets up to 60, I'll add the appropriate chlorine. Jason, Thanks for the quick reply.

    Curious algae question

If algae is present, will the walls be slimy? I didn't have any slime on the walls. I opened my pool 3 weeks ago. Water was clear and levels were good. Then a day after opening, we received 8 inches of rain and our back yard flooded and a river of mud got in the pool. I finally got the mud out...

Switch to a robotic from 280?

You won't be disappointed. I bought the Polaris 9300 Robot in 2010. It makes life easier.

    Question about keeping Pool open

I've got my pool heater running today to "warm" up the water for several hours before the freezing temps hit tonight. Pool temp is 52 degrees. I'll run the pool pump for several days until the night temps are above freezing. Temps are supposed to be back in the 50's and 60's in several days.

    Question about keeping Pool open

I'm having our pool closed, but they can't do it for 7 days. The temperature will drop to 25 degrees one night this upcoming week here in Indiana. It is a salt water pool. Can I just run the pump during the cold spell or will the pipes freeze?

Ideas where to buy Hayward Super pump

Seriously? Heater on? Why is it so hard to believe that the water temperature drops more at night when the pump isn't running :hammer: . My guess is since the pool is underground, the water tends to cool more. People also use fountains in the summer to keep the water temps down.

Ideas where to buy Hayward Super pump

Running the pool pump with the current motor overnight causes the water temperature to be around 95-99 degrees. When I shut it off overnight, I not only save $ on electricity but also it keeps the pool temperature to be around 88-93 degrees. So that 7-10 degree water temperature difference is...

Ideas where to buy Hayward Super pump

I always shut it off at night. It keeps the $ down and the water temp down. I needed it tomorrow due to kids out of school and wife breathing down my neck. Thanks for your input.
