Great question Richard. I hadn't fertilized before the massive rain storm. But the run off did come from several yards elevated from my yard. But by looking at their yards, they don't fertilize. I have zoysia, so I dont fertilize until late April early May.

Today I added stabilizer in a sock in the skimmer to elevate the CYA levels. I know the FC was 7 and the CYA was 0 this past Sunday. Once the CYA level gets up to 60, I'll add the appropriate chlorine. Jason, Thanks for the quick reply.

I've got my pool heater running today to "warm" up the water for several hours before the freezing temps hit tonight. Pool temp is 52 degrees. I'll run the pool pump for several days until the night temps are above freezing. Temps are supposed to be back in the 50's and 60's in several days.

I'm having our pool closed, but they can't do it for 7 days. The temperature will drop to 25 degrees one night this upcoming week here in Indiana. It is a salt water pool. Can I just run the pump during the cold spell or will the pipes freeze?

Seriously? Heater on? :roll: Why is it so hard to believe that the water temperature drops more at night when the pump isn't running :hammer: . My guess is since the pool is underground, the water tends to cool more. People also use fountains in the summer to keep the water temps down.

Running the pool pump with the current motor overnight causes the water temperature to be around 95-99 degrees. When I shut it off overnight, I not only save $ on electricity but also it keeps the pool temperature to be around 88-93 degrees. So that 7-10 degree water temperature difference is...

I have the same issues with water temp as you do. If the water temp gets around 90-94, I also will turn the pump off, but for 24 hrs. I have a SWG, I never have issues with algae and I test regularly with the TF-100 . Usually the water temp drops to 86-88 when I leave the pump off for 24 hrs.

Polaris 9300. It does a great job and it is easy to empy and clean the mesh bag.

Would the waste clog up the existing toilet when you flush? Is it a urine only toilet? I think it is a good idea but if someone has to Crud, I think I would make them go inside. Where do you buy a RV toilet? Online? Lowes? RV store?

I tried that and could not find any match. I'll take a screw to a local nut and bolt company and see if they have some stainless screws that are the same.

I am still trying to replace the rusted screws on my hayward skimmer plate. I have tried mcmaster.com, but I have no idea what size I need. My plate has 16 holes. Any ideas?

I am having the same problem. I have the same Hayward skimmer plate. The screws are rusting due to my salt water at a rapid rate. Cheap screws. I plan on replacing my skimmer. Does anyone know the exact model # of the skimmer plate in the picture above?

After doing some research, I found the answer I was looking for, 4"-6" inches below the skimmer with a solid cover.
