Using sodium bromide along with chlorine

Hi guys, I am just telling others what works in my pool. I am not interested in the chemistry. I don't want to be like the guy earlier in this thread getting attacked by the "experts". I don't sell sodium bromide and have no interest in pool business. Your miles may vary. My pool has...

Using sodium bromide along with chlorine

I know this thread is 2 years old. I had mustard algae in my pool around that time. I shocked the pool 2 or 3 times a year to control it but it kept coming back. About 4 months ago, I dumped all the salt water to convert back to non-SWG pool. A few weeks later, the mustard algae started to...

How to check a leak in the air bubble line?

Hi all, I suspect there is a small leak in the air bubble line. How would you check it and fix it? Here is a photo of the air bubble outlet It is close to the light. I am thinking to temporally pluck those holes and see if the leak stops. Any idea? Scott

Newbie question about valve actuator settings

I know this is 3 years old. Just wonder if you ever got the answer to your question. Scott

What is it in the photo?

The bottom device connects to two actuators. The middle transformer is to supply 24V (AC) to the bottom device. What is the top device? photo I have a dual timers. Just wonder if I can use the timers to automate the actuators... Thanks, Scott

100% short cycle vs 50% long cycle

I run my pump at 1450 RPM from 6:30 AM to mid-night. To complete one full turnover at the RPM, it takes 24 hours. With SWG matched to the current pump schedule, 55% is still too strong.

100% short cycle vs 50% long cycle

Hi all, I am new to SWG. I will install a timer just for the SWG. Just wonder if I should run the SWG at 100% in a short cycle or at 50% in a long cycle. These are my considerations: 1. pool chlorine fluctuation. short cycle = higher fluctuation. Is it harder too keep the pool clean? 2...

Ok to leave the system in AUTO when there is no flow?

Hi all, I have a Hayward salt water chlorine system. My pump has an internal timer, so it does not use the external timer and it is always on. The salt system connects to the same load, so it is also always on. My pump does not run at night. Is it a problem for the salt system to stay in...

    2nd times a charm.......No Drain Acid Wash

To the pebble pool owners, When you do this no drain acid wash, does the acidic water melt away the colored plaster as well as the scaling calcium? If it does knock off some plaster, do the pebbles fall off? Thanks, Scott

    partial chip put in remodel

What was your old finish? I have a pebble tec pool that was overexposed to the acid by the builder. That stuff is a lot harder than regular plaster. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

    partial chip put in remodel

Hi all, I have a question for people who have done a partial cut in remodel. My PB wants to chip out 6 inches at and below the tile line in order to re-plaster the whole pool with pebble finish. Just want to know if the transition line is noticeable after re-plastering. Do you see a bulge...

    Tank Body Hairline Crack

    1. I replaced my functional 2hp pentair whisper pro with intelliflo vs and did not look back. I run mine 24/7 at 1450 rpm (200 Watts). 2. It depends how tall the solar system will be mounted from the pump. A low speed in two speed pump may not provide enough flow. In order to retain the...

What is the max water level relative to skimmers?

We had a few heavy rain storms recently. The water level is higher than the top of the skimmer opening in the pool. As a result, water is not being skimmed. I assume we want to keep the water below the top end of that opening, right? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

How accuate is Leslie' water test vs TF 100 kit?

The water was collected fresh and taken to the store immediately. The store manager tested it right away. I am not concerned about the FC as it swings more frequently. However, those three readings are quite static. A Pebbletech technician tested my pool last Tuesday and told me that my TA...
