    Noisy IntelliPro Variable Pump

Went outside to find the pump awfully quiet this afternoon. It stopped due to overcurrent error. Tried to restart and the shaft won't spin. Pulled it apart and can barely rotate the shaft. Lots of corrosion around the front of the shaft. Guess I'm looking for a new motor or pump.

    Noisy IntelliPro Variable Pump

Thanks Jim. I tried pulling off the fan shroud and running the pump. No change in noise (video link below). Also tried recirculate. Psi dropped by 1, but no noticable change otherwise. The pump is 7 years old, and the prior owners ran it at 2800rpm 24x7 for 4 seasons straight.

    Noisy IntelliPro Variable Pump

I was getting some air from the basket seal. Cleaned and lubed and the turbulence is better. Filter is showing 8psi, flow gauge about 22gpm. I'll try pulling the fan shroud off. I don't feel any vibration there, but not sure I would.

I'll have to pull it from the tag tonight. It was installed in July 2014 with the pool.

Salt Water Conversion and adding Automation

It's finally starting to warm up in the north, and we just had our pool opened yesterday. I inherited the pool with our home purchase last fall, and immediately found high CYA as the pool builder (and previous cleaner) just kept feeding it trichlor pucks. When I bought the house and stopped...

New Home, Inherited a Pool. Advice on numbers needed.

Hello, I recently closed on a new house with a 19x38 inground vinyl pool that I'm told is 28k gallons. I received my Taylor K-2006 test kit last night, and tested the pool this morning. FC 5.5 CC 0 PH 7.2 TA 100 CH 510 CYA >100 (off the charts, need to retest diluted with distilled water -...
