    Iron stains-Overwhelmed and Frustrated

posting an update..my stains are a little lighter, but still there. The FC is 6.5 all other tests were unchanged and per my prior post. JasonLion: I do not see the sequestered iron laying in the bottom of the pool as it would normally do when there was an iron build up. I will continue to...

    Iron stains-Overwhelmed and Frustrated

 My CC is usually .5 or less. Does that mean that I would not need to shock at all? thanks so much for your help.

    Iron stains-Overwhelmed and Frustrated

I will give this a try. I know that the staining only started late in the day yesterday and i should have added the MetalFree then, it was raining and I just did not go check the pool at dark--my bad there. :hammer: thanks for the help

    Iron stains-Overwhelmed and Frustrated

I had not shocked in 2 weeks and since the CC was approx .5, I thought I needed to. Oh well, I am letting the FC come back down and hopefully the stain will go away too.

    Iron stains-Overwhelmed and Frustrated

I have iron stains that have reappeared again. I had used the ascorbic acid treatment and then added MetalFree by Natural Chemistry to remove the iron from the well water. (I did this last season with good results) It all worked great, but, after a few weeks now, I was raising slowly...

Green water after clearing the stains

I have recently used Stain Free from Natural Chemistry to clear the iron stains on my skimmers and light/return fixture. The stains did clear, so I added Metal Free maintenance dose (I have already put the initial dose & now maintaining). The water was clear for about 24 hrs, then it turned...

Need to move light in above ground pool, do I drain?

Not exactly sure what has to be done, the hubby put the o ring in the wrong place  now it leaks. just a very small, but very steady stream. He was saying that I had to drain it down before he could work on it. Will we need to plug the skimmer closed too? I thank you for your help...

Need to move light in above ground pool, do I drain?

Thanks Steve for your quick reply. I thought I had read somewhere that plastic wrap (Handi wrap) can be folded several times and use it to help stop the water from the inside too. I will use them both, if the plastic wrap will work. Don't want to lose my sparkling blue water

I need to remove the light, AquaLuminator, in our above ground pool. Must I drain out the water to get to it? Is there another way not to lose all that water? We need to completely take it out and reinstall. I will appreciate your instructions. thanks so much

    Clorox turns water brown..why?

Thank you all for your advice and input. I will have the water tested for iron and other metals. Are there any good tests on the market for doing it myself? I assume that the pool store can do this and I probably will try them if I can't buy the test.

    Clorox turns water brown..why?

We are having to replace our liner this spring so I do not have the typical readings to post here. I converted to the BBB method last year and all went well. I am getting things ready to refill the pool after we get the new liner in and have been doing some tests on my well water that will be...

Sorry to post so late. After shocking up to 15 ppm and held overnight, the level dropped during the afternoon to 4ppm. The sun was very hot and lots of swimming that day. I add bleach to 6 ppm and it stayed overnight. I have also added more stablilizer, to 50 ppm. Hopefully this will help...
