What recommendations do you have to submerge the vacuum power cable so that my Betta doesn’t get stuck?

Hi just recently closed my pool and have a few dumb questions. In my region we get below freezing but never deep freezes or for very long (Nashville, TN). My pool equipment pad is 5 ft higher than my pool and if I drain my pool equipment, blow out & cap the lines and put a gizmo in the skimmer...

Thanks I really over added the acid today. Mainly because I was lazy.

Only chemicals I’ve added recently is muriatic acid which I happened to have added earlier today. That should explain the lower ph because my steady state is around 7.6.
