Alright I found an image for another model and it works the same here, Its very tight and its the only thing holding the entire top cover on. Im good to go, hope its useful for someone else in the future.

Does anyone know how to remove this black part? I have a bunch of hair and plant material jamming up the impeller. My unit is a Polaris freedom but I found the part number R0895700 and it looks like it fits the EPIC line and the JCRX cleaners. I dont see a screw or anything on the top side so...

The basket itself seems like a pretty fine mesh but I agree it isnt picking everything up. I wonder if its just bypassing the filter somehow.

lol are you me? I tried the smorobot last year and it lasted two weeks before dying. I returned it and they sent me one free to try out (and I assume request a favorable review at some point), that replacement lasted about a week before dying also. They admitted they were aware of water...
