Deck for 30 ft diameter pool

That makes more sense and looks good. You can use 2x8 for the joists, even 2x6 if you wanted too.

Deck for 30 ft diameter pool

I'm not following that drawing. Are you doing headers with joists on top? If not, you would need to add more posts alongside the pool I would think. Also, doesn't look like you need 4 posts on the long end. With 2x10's , x 2, your support joists or header can span over 7'. You probably will...

Deck for 30 ft diameter pool

I used 2x10 for the headers and 2x8 for the joists. Looking at your plan, I would think 2x8 would be OK, but you may need to double them up on the outer ones. See attached link for typical span specifications, but you should verify with your code people...

Deck for 30 ft diameter pool

If you can put your design down as 2D and mark how far apart your posts are, that should be good enough for the code people to get the permit. Mark the sizes of the lumber too. After you layout and dig the holes, the inspector will want to see them before you put the concrete in. The holes...

Deck for 30 ft diameter pool

I would go to the local govt website and see if they have the pool and deck codes online or just go to the building department and ask. The codes will specify the way you need to build like how big and deep for the footings, the spans you can do depending on lumber size, railing heights, stairs...

    The dig has begun

Wow, I thought that was a lot of bleach, but seems to average out.

    The dig has begun

Finally!! We are swimming! Still much to do, but at least the when the kid asks if he can go in, I can say yes. Need to finish the top rail trim and am waiting on the water bug bonding plate. Time to work on the retaining wall and then on to the deck. Ordered a TF test kit too. Question: How...

    The dig has begun

Woo-hoo, the liner is in. Man, was that thing heavy! I do have an issue. It seems that the inner stabilizer bars are a few inches too long and I am sure that they were pushed tight into each other. Did anyone ever have to trim them before?

    The dig has begun

Ive been doing the cardboard shuffle all day. It works but you have to walk carefully or the edges can dig in. I would recommend foam instead, but I didn't have any and just want to finish this.

    The dig has begun

I was going to try to set the liner from outside. I saw a video of it done with a broom so I figured I give it a shot and keep the foot prints to a minimum. I will build a deck, but that will be a picnic compared to this and i would much rather work with wood than this nasty clay. I still have a...

    The dig has begun

Re: The dig has begun-Update Well after alot of work, the walls are up and spreading sand is under way. Is there anything easy about this? The 100 foot run of power is done and working. The walls were leveled with a laser and are within an 1/8th inch. Cant say the same about the sand, but i...
