I used the Jack's Magic stain ID kit and it showed their #2 Copper and Scale treatment would be best. I followed that procedure and brushed with a steel brush after a couple days of the product dissolving most of it. It brushed right off, where it never would before.

Are sequestrants required? I had a major scale problem to resolve and don't want it to come back.

If I'm diligent and keep the water balanced, with the CSI in range (using the app calculation), would it be ok to proceed without using a sequestrant then? The product I have left over and am using is Jack's Magic Magenta Stuff. I thought the scale removal process would take longer and bought...

Got the PoolMath app installed. That's a handy tool! Thanks for the suggestion :)

Are sequestrants required? I had a major scale problem to resolve and don't want it to come back.

I opened another tab and have been reading the link and beyond into Calcium Scaling (Thanks). I've yet to use the poolmath tool, but will here shortly also. The test kit came with the Taylor "Watergram". Between it and reading on this site, it was a real eye opener once I got a thermometer and...

    Calcium removal.

I used a Jacks Magic product to remove the scale in my pool. I think they have products to remove it from tile and other areas. Here's the thread I posted as I'm a new poster to the forum. New to Forum and TFP practices. No more pool store blues for me!

New to Forum and TFP practices. No more pool store blues for me!

Hi All, After a head scratching year of seeing my pool finish turn from blue to gray when I did everything the pool store told me, I've become a convert to TFP. Thanks to this site, I learned why my pool was getting calcium scale on it as well as sometimes getting algae when everything was done...
