    Well this is all based on the dip sticks because I am all out of DPD powder till next week. I may have been detecting the bleach instead of bromine (10ppm ) on the dip stick but regardless it is gone within an hour....nothing on the strip!!     Okay I will try it before and when there is some FC showing. I thought I was accomplishing the same thing by shocking with MPS to oxidize bather waste. When do you recommend using MPS and how much? I was under the impression it would be around 7 tsp for 415 Gallons.

    The pool is 19,000 gallons. I have the Taylor 20006 test kit which I believe is FAS-DPD for chlorine. For the dilution I used filtered water that doesn't test for any FC. Thanks
