Black Algae - SLAM / FC / CYA Levels

I believe unrelated - but I am also having issues with my Zodiac Mx6 Vacuum Cleaner that keeps going "sideways" or on its back, so its get stuck in the same location. It will eventually find its way out, but more often than not, it is stuck in the same location cause it is "top heavy". Any...

Black Algae - SLAM / FC / CYA Levels

Thank you again! Just purchased a submersible pump so will try this soon, and read through the Draining page as well. Is there a specific brand/type that is recommended? I'd rather get one that is trusted, or known - so I don't get the wrong product. I believe unrelated - but I am also having...

Black Algae - SLAM / FC / CYA Levels

Hi! I've been dealing with black algae for some time in my pool. I finally got the Taylor-Kit to do some formal testing, to try SLAM, and ultimately attempt to get rid of the black algae altogether. I did some testing, and need some help as the SLAM page has recommendations to start, so here are...

New to Pools - Question Regarding Pump

Back again... the filter pressure is back to the pre-cleaning levels, less than a month later. Is this normal? Just curious if I should be anticipating this frequency, or if I should hire a pro to give it a go :) I did add a couple of items including a skimmer basket, which was after terrible...

New to Pools - Question Regarding Pump

Well I may have made a big error in judgement - I thought you were referring to the vacuum, so I put that in the spa... and maybe chaos ensued. It just sucked up more water and the spa level went down (which has now returned) - would this be normal?

New to Pools - Question Regarding Pump

Just wanted to circle back that all the guidance was extremely appreciated, and was able to change the filter with a tutorial and a couple of videos. Pool is looking much cleaner.... now onto another question... how do you typically keep your spa clean? I've noticed alot of dirt on the bottom of...

New to Pools - Question Regarding Pump

Thanks all. I cleaned out the pump filter which had a bunch of leaves and what not in it, but didn't fully fix the problem. The suction appears to be a bit better, but the vacuum is not running on "low" speed. Could this be impacted by the filter? I've attached a picture of the filter label...

New to Pools - Question Regarding Pump

Thanks again for the advice. Heater does not work! I believe the old thing in the middle in from the prior setup, it does not appear to be connected at this point in time. Here are a couple pics of the filter label.
