    Backwash

There is no backwashing for a cartridge filter. Cartridge filters do not a "Valve" attached to filter. Must remove lid and cartridges and wash them off. Hope this helps.

    Plumbing my above ground pool

You have to give yourself enough room out of the MPV before the 90( tank is in the way ), if you come straight down out of MPV you will hit the tank. Place flow switch first out of MPV. I would not send chlorinated water directly thru flow switch.

Am I starting my salt correctly with my Aqualogic P4?

One bag is not going to add 2800 ppm of salt to a 14x28 pool. How deep is the pool ? An average depth of 4' would be a 12000 gallon pool. On most bags of swimming pool salt, they have a conversion chart for start-ups. Most leave chlorinator off for 24 hours and pump running to circulate salt...

Impossible to replace Jandy AquaPure 1400? (See Photos)

They make a fitting that fit over the outside dimeter of the cut fitting. Flow switch should have been plumbed BEFORE generator. As plumbed now. Chlorinated water is damaging inside (paddle) of flow switch.

    Plumbing my above ground pool

I would read instruction book for salt generator. They should have plumbing dos/donts. Have to hard pipe flow switch and generator. If not installing ALOT of unnecessary fitting and pipe joints. I see flex pipe on ABG pools all the time. Hard for the clamps to have enough strength to seal...

Anyone know what kind of pump I have?

I believe its from the underneath side of lid. Basically, inside dimension of pump pot ( where basket goes ). My pleasure. Glad I could help.

Anyone know what kind of pump I have?

Looks like a Premier pump, series 556N, should be a 6" lid o-ring. If it is a Premier pump, part # for o-ring is 33-489. Generic o-ring cross reference O-13 or an original Sta-Rite o-ring will work U9-46. Parts for this pump are not easy to come by. Lid and Clamp are obsolete. Hope this helps...

    Broken parts

If the Jandy valve handle broken when trying to turn, most likely internal diverter may have to be lubed(if it is the kind that can be lubed) or replaced. There are o-ring seals inside valve also, that may need some attention. spx710ma part number for sight glass, if Hayward MPV.
