    Right borax? No borates test

Hi, long time low PH struggler. Jets that bubble son't do enough. Alkalinity could be a bit higher, so added some soda ash. But also considering adding borax. Thing is, I don't have a testing kit for borates (taylors not readily available down under). We also don't have 20 mule borax. We have...

Haha I thought this part of the forum was a bit more active. It was like the 3rd post and didn't look at the date :D My bad!

Targeted Facebook adds on pool stuff

You rather see ads about incontinence products, diet pills or viagra? Be happy the ads become more relevant to you. Not only does it benefit you, it also keeps many platforms free. How much of your personal info you share with platforms is up to you of course. But if you check a random...

    How much liters/gallons during backwashing?

Thanks Brad. I just spoke to the pool building company and they said it needs at least four 600x600 soakwells, sjeez...I can't put that into the ground without redoing my entire garden. Besides that like you said, you are pumping quite a bit of chlorine/salt water into the ground...hmm

    How much liters/gallons during backwashing?

The pool has bene placed last week. I took pictures of everything, which I'll share soon :-) Anyway, we need to sort the backwashing of our sand filter. In Perth, Western Australia, you have to ditch the water inground in a soakwell How much liter/gallon do you flush away during a backwash...

New pool - what do you think of this equipment?

Or maybe we just estimated it higher ;P Isn't too bad though. - - - Updated - - - I'll be honest, if it wasn't for the wife and kids, I probably wouldn't have had a pool build. Oh well :) You'd better start swimming a lot to make it worthwhile!

New pool - what do you think of this equipment?

Sooo, got the quote back - Upgrade to grade 12 is +$260. - Led lights have the (transformer I think he called it) near the equipment. - The sand filter is Astral CA280 Glass Media Filter including Glass Media - He said to have the equipment 12M - 15M from the Pool he advised to upgrade the pump...

New pool - what do you think of this equipment?

Alright, I'll see what they'll say. If the 40mm for the return isn't that much of a biggie, I will probably leave it as is. We are stretching our budget. Class12 sounds like a good idea as we have quite a few bushes/trees between the pool and where the equipment will be. It's only $550...

New pool - what do you think of this equipment?

Ah cheers, that makes sense. In our current pool the pool light broke and they quote between $500 and $1000 (AUD) to have it fixed. Mind you it was an old one and the bracket was c**p. But because it was below water level it was a hassle. Hassle = high costs.

New pool - what do you think of this equipment?

Cheers mate! I appreciate your effort for even making a video :-) That looks like plenty of action to me! But how would a blower affect it? As that takes akes away pressure from the jets. Originally I was quite happy with the heating pump we have now, but it's $1200 more. I figured for that...

New pool - what do you think of this equipment?

Alright, so as it seems; - Astral P320XT Variable Speed Pump - Astral Booster Pump (TX model I think) to go with a blower for the Jets + bubbles - Astral Viron EQ35 Salt Chlorinator with PH Sensor with Bluetooth (this has auto acid injection) - Astral HP88 9kW Heat Pump - Read quite a few good...

New pool - what do you think of this equipment?

Right... They said you needed a stronger pump for it and advised against it. In the other corner we have this feature wall: It's horizontally placed in the corner. In other words, there is A LOT of room behind it which is wasted space. If we can place our pool equipment there that would be...
