    Porcelain tile

What do you mean by "cover"? If it's the countertop you're referring to, then yes. I used 1/2" cement board under my counter top, thinset, and then tile. If by "cover" you're talking about the sides of the base, I suppose you could do that too, but it will cost a lot more and much more labor...

BBQ Island Kitchen and Bar Table Build

The project done and came out great. I finished the bases with Dryvit (Mojave finish). This stuff comes in 5 gallon buckets and covers about 120 sq ft. You use a trowel and it give a nice stucco finish. Also, if you are building, get a Pactool Snipper Shear to cut the cement board. Without...

BBQ Island Kitchen and Bar Table Build

The steel came in 8ft and 10ft lengths, so there was a lot of cutting. I used some Wiss brand shears and the cuts weren't bad, just a lot of them. I didn't weld anything. I do plan on attaching it to the concrete soon.

New member, and my newly built outdoor kitchen/bar

Jet, Nice Job! I'm thinking about a similar layout for my island. I'm wondering how much room do you have between the sink island and bar table? Also, what's the width of the bar table? Is that a 16x16 tile? Thanks!

How far from house should the grill be?

I'm in the planning stages of an L-shaped island that will feature a sink and raised bar seating area. The island will be underneath my covered patio with one end of the "L" starting maybe just a few inches from the side of the house. Originally, I wasn't planning on adding a drop-in grill...
