Ground prep and install for Bestway 12x24 (Costco)

Oh, I see. What is that one useful for then? What exactly connects to it?

Ground prep and install for Bestway 12x24 (Costco)

The second picture in ChiknNutz last post has the one that connects to the filter outlet. The first picture neither of those connect to the pump or filter (they aren't 2" connectors). Believe me, I tried. They do look like they fit the port on the bottom of the pool to gravity drain the whole...

    Intex SF80110-2 Pump/Filter Timer Bypass

So how did you do that without keeping the lid open all the time? The lid has a gasket that keeps rain out from the panel.

Ground prep and install for Bestway 12x24 (Costco)

I never did figure out what that one on the left does. I think the one on the right attaches to the drain on the bottom at one of the ends so you can connect a garden hose to it and drain 95% of the pool. Not sure, but there's nothing else it fits on that I see. Based on your pics, it's on the...

    Questions about bestway agp sizing

I've found I do fine with both outlets open on the bigger Intex filter. Now I just leave the skimmer and pool vacuum hooked up. We switched to the XtremepowerUS one here: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ESQMA8M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It does a good job, but it...

    Questions about bestway agp sizing

Appears you are correct! I was calculating based on 90% of 48 inches but that's to the top of the frame. Bottom of the pool to the top of the liner (where it opens up for the vertical support poles) is 45 inches. Recalculating on that, I'm overfilled by 1.75" on one end after recent rains...

    Questions about bestway agp sizing

Hmm I wonder what's going on with mine then, because if I don't fill it there the sides rock quite a lot. In addition, the chemicals I add match the expected change based on a 6k gallon fill with it at that level. I guess I can measure again to see how full mine should be.

    Questions about bestway agp sizing

I'm noticing your water level is low. Don't you find the sides to be a bit wobbly? We keep the level to the bottom of the printed pattern or max one stitch (there's about 4).

Jerry rig a solar heater bypass?

Thanks for the evaluation. After hearing that I'm going to need a check valve (and decent ones don't seem cheap) or a 2 way valve (which also aren't cheap), I did some more digging around and found Pool Supply World has a Pentair 2" 3 way diverter for just over half off. I went ahead and ordered...

Jerry rig a solar heater bypass?

My concerns were: 1. Ball valve integrity. I don't plan to adjust every single day, AZ gets lots of sun except for monsoon and end of season gets colder. 2. The filter and pump have to fill the inactive side of the circuit, although I guess this is alright once pressurized?

One inch tabs in three inch feeder

They have a very accurate photometer, which now that I have my K2006 kit and I can see that I misread the scale, it matches. They now read 40 and the kit reads about 35-40 (hard to tell because Taylor's scale seems logarithmic).
