How long will tablets last in chlorinator?

Thanks! I'd done a floater in the past but it bothered me that I didn't know if it was actually adding enough chlorine and storage between uses was an issue for it as well. I can be a bit of a control freak. :\ Usually, that makes me a good pool chemical maintainer! :)

How long will tablets last in chlorinator?

I just added an in-line chlorinator for use when travelling. I decided to test it out to learn the appropriate setting for keeping my FC where I want it. I've run it for a week and discovered what the appropriate setting should be. Now I've turned it off and gone back to manually adding...

    Using Speedstir with TF-100 cylinders

I'm considering purchasing the Speedstir but I have a couple of questions. 1) Are my TF-100 cylinders the right size to use with the Speedstir? 2) The Speedstir comes with one magnetic stirring bar, but my test kit comes with a separate cylinder for the chlorine test. Is it OK to use the...

    More boatmen and/or backswimmers

I apologize for the quality of this picture. Can anyone tell if this is a boatman or a backswimmer? I caught and squished this one this morning. There's still another one in the pool. My test results for CC are .5 so I'm not sure what they would be eating. Would you recommend I SLAM just to...

    Adding bleach and acid

I read on the forum today that bleach and acid should not be added at the same time? I add both pretty much every 1 - 2 days and I often add them at the same time. Is there any particular order in which they should be added, and how long should I be waiting in between? Thanks!

I've read about the rising pH with new plaster, but this seems kind of crazy. It's been over a year and I still have to add acid every day or so, and that practice drops my TA about 30 ppm every 10 days or so. I'm hoping the borates will help buffer the pH.
