    Sand in Pool

To start, I used a plastic scoop. I had tried my shop vac, but there was too much sand, and it was too dense and wet for the vac to do a good job. It was not fun! I'd fill 2 pails and then haul them and dump under my deck since I had nowhere to save/store the sand. Once I got down to the...

Lateral assembly replacement on Hayward S-220

I ended up removing more and more sand until I finally had a really clear view of the bottom-middle of the filter: It clearly looks like the disc is supposed to fit onto this circular area, and there is a small cutout in the disc that would appear to fit into notch on the bottom in the image...

Lateral assembly replacement on Hayward S-220

Thanks for the reply. I have an entire new lateral assembly ready to go (looks identical to your link). This cap fits into the very base of that, but that base seems to be o be just a stand to raise the laterals up from the bottom of the filter. So shouldn't affect the water at all. My best...

Lateral assembly replacement on Hayward S-220

Happy pool opening season (for all us northerners)! Got mine open this past weekend only to notice after a day of running the pump that I was spraying a lot of sand into my fairly clean (considering the winter) pool. Sure enough, upon removing the lateral assembly, I had a cracked center pipe...

    Test kits in Canada?

I'm in ontario myself. Luckily I had a visit to the states last year and got my kit then. Locally, Acapulco pools sells all of the Taylor refill kits, though I haven't had to refill mine yet, so I can't comment on pricing. Sent from my KFTHWI using Tapatalk

Adding Acid - DON'T DO WHAT I DID! - Now I Am Off to the Doctor

How big of a bucket? Were you inside or out? I use 4L (~1 gallon) jugs with small twist off caps and I don't take any precautions other than to *slowly* pour it into the return while holding my breath.

    Problems With PoolSkim- Need Advice

I installed a PoolSkim last year as I too have a number of maples in my yard - on with a number of branches right above the pool. I found that going to a slotted return on my shallow end jet and then sending more water through the PoolSkim return than the other (my pump room has a valve) gave my...

    Chlorine cost in Ontario

Thanks everyone for the confirmation. Could to know that there's at least one thing we get a better deal on.

    Chlorine cost in Ontario

I've been reading a lot of the cost comparison threads, and I feel like I may be doing something wrong with my calculations when I'm trying to figure out if my local pool store (Pioneer Pools in Kitchener, ON) is my best deal for chlorine. I buy refillable 10L jugs (aprox 338 US oz) for...

    New Skimdoctor installed

I'm interested to hear the findings on this as well. I installed a PoolSkim last year and it's been excellent. But I still find a lot of debris floats around the surface and ends up eventually sinking before getting caught by either the PoolSkim or my skimmer. Are there any other options out...

    Missing Item from TF100

I do the same thing and it works great. I was planning on buying the sample sizer, but the syringe has worked so well that I no longer think it's needed. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
