Quick way to dissolve granular CYA in pool

Same here, I just squeeze the sock 'til it's all gone, about 15 minutes (I have a small pool).

    Intex replacement pool liner 18' x 48"

I think the liner sold separately is almost as a new pool. If you can hang on 'til the end of the season, you can probably get a new one for a great price.

    Reusable filters

I use the Unicel filter. Easier to clean and lasts much longer. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0039X2XZK/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Intex Pool Decision (Depth and Filter question)

33" to the top of the return on an 18' ultra frame, which I recommend. Kids grow up fast; it won't be long before they complain that the 18 footer is too small. As for a pump, get the 2500GPH pump. It does a great job pulling surface debris to the skimmer and floor debris to the center for...

    Speedstir Magnetic stirrer

Just to clarify, I don't want Speedstir users (or anyone else) to think that I think that it's a bad purchase. Swirling by hand could certainly be difficult for some and the Speedstir would be a god-send for them. For others I suspect it gives them peace of mind that their results are correct...

    Speedstir Magnetic stirrer

A side-by-side comparison with the same water sample and the same tests, one swirled by hand the other with the Speedstir. If the swirled sample showed different results each time and the Speedstir showed the same, and this happened consistently with different users, I might be convinced. The...

First house, first pool, first SLAM time ... feeling nervous!

You've come to the right place. People will marvel at your pool and assume you spend hundreds of dollars and lots of hours each month to maintain such clear water. When they do, just smile and nod, and say, "Can I get you another drink?"

SLAM - the math AND the reality

That's way too much deviation, in my opinion. Are taking a sample from the same place in the pool? Has the bleach had adequate time to mix? Are your reagents fresh? I only had more than a 1.5 ppm deviation when I had bad reagents.

INTEX krystal clear swg Users!! Or someone familiar with.

I never had a problem with the bars plugged in, and I know of others who never had a problem. Just the same I unplugged them this year for the first time.

Which Deck?? Full wrap around, partial wrap around, or end deck only??

If you go with the end deck, you might end up wishing later that you had a larger deck. I doubt that will happen if you go full deck. Every time you use the wrap around portion for cleaning, jumping in or retrieving items from the pool, you'll be glad you have it.

    Economics of Saltwater Chlorine Generators

Not sure how the economics work with my Intex SWG, but I love it and think it's worth every penny. For these larger pools, if it's a wash financially, why not go with the more convenient option?

    Time, energy and money wasted

Mamacurd, you said different people have told you different things, but the people on this forum will all tell you the same thing; get a proper test kit, don't trust the pool store, follow the methods advocated on this site. We might sound like a broken record but our advice goes against a huge...

Need vacuum hookup help for intex without skimmer. Picture and backstory inside.

I simply unhook the skimmer hose from the inlet and hook the vac hose up to the inlet.

How long your Ultra Frame INTEX lasted?

We had a 16X48 for two years, then upgraded to an 18X48 two years ago. All parts were in good shape with just a little surface rust here and there. Since we only have it up a little more than 3 months out of the year I suspect we'll get many more years out of it.
