    Is my cell producing chlorine?

If your SWG is working, then I would suspect that you have not nearly enough CYA (stabilizer) in the pool....if that is the case, your chlorine is probably being zapped up by the sun.

is SWG it really worth it?

I honestly have not touched my pool water chemistry in 3 months after installing my SWG.......I would never, ever, ever go back to BBB method for the simple fact that the pool is practically maintenance free. I test my water once a month and it doesn't move....the only thing I do is add water...

Have a few question about Circupool RJ45 & calcium build-up

I've also got a Circupool RJ45 installed about 8 days ago. My salt level (as indicated on the controller) read high for the first few days, but has leveled out. (starting readings were 5700 ppm, last 2 days 3400-4100) We've also had significant rain, and prior to that I had to add water due to...

Using stabilized pucks with BBB (to make life easier)

Its a DYI project, takes about an hr to put it in. Costs are: SWG (includes transformer/control module & cell) ~$700-1100 average for in ground pool, I paid $860 Salt $150 (for 680 lbs, 21,000 gallon pool) PVC fittings / glue- $9.00 Over time, IMO what you will spend in bleach, going to the...

    For those still doubting BBB….

I've had AGP's, but now I have an IG 32x16 which is 21,000 gals....no matter what type of pool you have really. I purchased a Circupool RJ45 SWG after doing research here on the forum, and elsewhere. Seemed like a good choice, decent price point, and good warranty. I'm very happy with the...

Using stabilized pucks with BBB (to make life easier)

I don't agree....a SWG totally simplifies life. We did the bleach method for 3 years, and it seemed like the way to go.....but it gets really old lugging bleach, stocking it & dumping it every day. We supplemented with pucks while we were away, and had mixed results. On top of that, when the...

    For those still doubting BBB….

I did exactly what you did...only a few yrs ago....had great results too. Although after a few yrs of doing the bleach thing, it gets old....that's when you'll upgrade to a SWG.....and then you'll be wondering why you didn't switch to the salt years ago! Ask me how I know!

    Issues with new SWG system

I would tend to agree with the previous posts. When I put my RJ45 in service, I did not wait 24 hrs for the pool to stabilize....I dumped in the salt, and fired up the SWG. My readings were in the upper 5K range for the first day, then slowly came down to 3500 ppm over 3 days. However, I haven't...

SWG installed, Issue with Pump self Priming

I can't tell by the picture, but does the PVC piping run down and to the side of the cell inlet? (or does it 90 right into it?)

SWG installed, Issue with Pump self Priming

My RJ45 is mounted higher than the filter, similar to yours...no issues with pump prime at all. Perhaps you are leaking air in through one of your fittings and the water is draining back? You did mount it on the return side of the filter (going to the pool) right?

WOO HOO ! ! ! LOVE MY SWG! (Converted from BBB Method)

I recently installed a Circupool RJ45 SWG on my 32x16 (21,000 gal) inground pool. Holy cow what a difference! Our pool gets intense sun all day long (current water temp is 92) and it was getting a little frustrating hauling bleach for the last three years...so we upgraded to the SWG. The water...

    Alternatives to vinyl??

Well thanks to this forum, I'm now a water chemistry guru, so no issues there! It looks like I'll have to find a decent contractor and babysit a new liner installation. Maybe that'll help! Thanks, Dan

    Alternatives to vinyl??

I have a 3 yr old inground pool with 25 mil vinyl liner. I've had a few leaks in the past years and frankly I'm ready for something a little more durable. I really have no idea what options there are, if any, after the fact. Can anyone offer some suggestions? (besides finding a competent...
