How do I stop pump from losing prime when cleaning basket?

Re: How do I stop pump from losing prime when cleaning baske Thanks to you all for your valuable comments! sefrlw, I have followed your instructions, and things are *much* better now. Here is what I did just now, and water started flowing immediately after re-starting the pump! This...

How do I stop pump from losing prime when cleaning basket?

Hi there, (Picture attached to show my setup.) My question is how I can prevent my pump from losing its prime when I clean the gunk from the pump's filter basket. These days, there are a lot of small leaves which end up in the pool and make it to the pump. They are trapped by the basket...

Yard lights go on, but won't turn off (timer problem)

Thanks for all of the help. I re-read the manual and found out that the pool lights and the yard lights (in the Config menu) both have their own Freeze protect "feature", although I'm unsure why anyone would want their lights on a freeze protected circuit. In any case, once I disabled freeze...

Yard lights go on, but won't turn off (timer problem)

They are on their own breaker from the main electrical panel. (Is this what you mean, or do you mean something particular to the setup of the ProLine?) The filter pump is on a separate breaker.

Yard lights go on, but won't turn off (timer problem)

I have been experimenting and observing over the past couple of days. The timers work correctly when the temperature is higher (to turn the lights on initially), and the lights fail to go out when the temperature goes down, presumably below the cut-off point for whatever the system considers to...

Yard lights go on, but won't turn off (timer problem)

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me with a problem I am having with lights on a timer on a Hayward Goldline ProLogic automation system. Background: I am in Canada, so, right now, the temperature gets down to 28-32 degrees F overnight, and then up to 57-60 F during the day. We opened our pool...

Why does my pump fill with air when on low-speed but not hi?

Re: Why does my pump fill with air when on low-speed but not I missed the link in your post, and when I searched for it I didn't come up with any hits? Maybe my poor search strategy - I'll try again. Thanks.

Why does my pump fill with air when on low-speed but not hi?

I have a variable speed Hayward pump that is nicely air-free when on higher speeds (mine is set at 65% as high, 35% as low). However, during the day, electricity is more expensive so I run the pump on low speed (35%). I have looked in the pump while on high and have never seen any air, but for...

Newbie: Is my problem solely due to low CYA?

Hi, I've been lurking for a few weeks and I have a new SWG pool that I am just getting used to. We've had it operational for only one week. I have read a lot on this site and have gone to "Pool School". My pool is about 25,000 gallons and was filled with city water, as well as 15 bags of salt...

Water in pump, you can see going up and down

If there is just a constant-sized air bubble as you mentioned, how can I get rid of it? Will opening the filter pressure relief valve help? Thanks.
