    Coring in new returns

In the end I went for SIKADUR 32. Worked an absolute treat, and bonded really well to the PVC. I guess I'll find out just how well at the end of the project!!!

    Sizing looped return line

Thanks guys The distance is short between the first and the last return, about 3 metres. The pool isnt huge, but I just want to try and get it right the first time. Perhaps a 3" run shooting off to the 2" would be ok then? As there is very little pipe, it would'nt be a pain at all if the best...

    Retaining wall delima

Yes, I would agree there, for me the most important thing would be having allowed adequate drainage for water behind the wall. If thats been neglected I'd definitely go for the larger stone for bulk followed by grade. One thing I've found with sandstone based crusher run, is that it can compact...

    Sizing looped return line

Hi there I am hoping someone can suggest the size PVC to use for three one sided returns on a loop. Cored return lines to pool are 2 inch, what pipe do you experienced folk recommend looping with? My equipment pad is within a few metres of the return, everything is nice and compact. I was...

    Coring in new returns

Hi Bama Yeah, we use a fair amount of sika, but they have several types and just wondering if anyone here has a favourite. Here in Spain 90% of pools are fully tiled with glass mosaic, so this is what I'll be doing along with Egyptian stone for the copings and the negative edge. This stone is...

    Coring in new returns

Hi guys n gals In the process of my project of turning an old water storage tank into a pool, I have had to core the shell for return lines etc. Do any of you have any favourite resins etc for bedding in the PVC lines? Any experience with SIKA products? Thanks in advance :goodjob: Paul

    Keeping catch basin clean

Thanks Linen for your reply, The edge is already underway and having built infinity edge pools I realise how dirty they get and was just thinking of ways to keep it clean! At present I'm thinking of a skimmer and a few floor jets, does anyone have any advice? Thanks Paul

    Keeping catch basin clean

Hi folks After several years, I've now started renovation work on an existing 5mx4m above ground concrete pool and could really do with your advice on a few issues through the project. I have a construction background and love a challenge so I thought I'd set myself one by turning what was a...

    Concrete pool up north

Hi Mats Sounds like you've had a major project on the go! I've only just come across this blog today, whilst searching for some other info. I'm interested as to your choice of kerapoxy for the tiling. Here in Mallorca (Spain) we use many Mapei or Keracoll products, and for pools our choice is...

    Infinity overflow return

Right I'll give that a go then! It is 19:22 here so not quite sleepy yet! It takes a lot for me to loose sleep, but this pool cuts it close sometimes!!! Thanks again Bruce, I'll be posting some pics real soon. Have a good one! Cheers Paul

    Infinity overflow return

Cheers Bruce I think the evidence points to the fact you are smart mate!! My return is a 50mm or 2 inch line, Ive got no skimmer as one of the main reasons using the edge like this was to keep maximum depth, to be quite honest I wish I had just gone for a raised skimmer!! nevermind I've learnt a...

    Infinity overflow return

Thanks Bruce Have you ever thought so long about something you were worse off than you were before?? I think I get what you're saying and I feel a bit stupid! Obviously whenever the edge pump stops the pool will be at the optimum edge level! so basically its just the surge tank that needs its...
