FYI: My neighbor's pool is 25 years old and still has the same plaster. Pitted a lot all over but you really can't see it at all.

I cleaned the filters out finally. The tub was like totally brown. Filter was doing its job keeping the garbage in the filter. I cleaned all 4 cartridges and the filter itself. I think I finally turned the corner! Pool isn't "crispy" yet, but getting there!

I would never buy anything from them again. I would also initiate a charge-back for a "SNAD". Significantly not as described. Effem. Keep everything too until and unless they pay for return shipping. Their lame return policy does not cover used items being sold as new.

Debris yes. Where is the opening of the canister? Have you tried taking it out with that facing up? That is how the Polaris works.

How full is it when you remove it? My Polaris is pulled out on end which makes the opening at the top of the filter canister and nothing is able to escape. If it is very full a bit might seep out but never enough to worry about. Is there a "fine" filter cartridge available?

By "speed set" do you mean the extra box that sits on top of the pump for programming? If so, then no, you do not need that with Aqualink. Is it hooked up to your Aqualink already? It needs a 4-wire RS485 connector. Here is my speed settings: My Schedule:
