Undersized heat pump -- what to do?

Your pool is @ 5k gallons right? That heater is 15k BTUs, which isn't much. What it your budget? If the budget allows, you can't beat a gas heater. For costs to run, you could probably wire up a Kil-o-watt meter on it and see. Amazon.com : kilowatt meter I would think in Chicago you're still...

Jandy JXi heater with Hayward Omnihub mystery

I suspect they won't because it is mixed with Hayward. I wouldn't either if I was them.

    Pool cover anchor question

They do, but the brass will tarnish and become less noticeable. Here is one example of a black one. It is still brass, just powder coated. https://www.amazon.com/Poolzilla-Matte-Anchors-Concrete-Pavers/dp/B0CGYP4RT7

    Multiple skimmer cracks

Wow what is causing this? Ground movement? Ice? I think for sure I would go the epoxy/patching route before replacing it. Replacing will be way more expensive you have nothing to lose trying. Also yes fill any voids and find out why you have voids. Could be from a constant skimmer leak.

    Plumbing new heater

Those pads are worthless and I wish local codes would outlaw them for good. I highly suggest you pour another concrete pad for the heater. You won't regret it.

Adding CYA to pool for first time

In practice, there is no reason not to do this. Only caveat is not to backwash or clean your filter cartridges until the CYA has fully dissolved.

Jandy low temp / low salt warning

For sure I would keep it going until it drops. That cell should add 6.8 FC each 24 hour period at 100% though.

    Jandy pump advice

When you switch to "iAqualink", make sure you are getting the IQ30-RS kit and not the IQ20a. How much are you being charged for the Aqualink upgrade? The kit is around $1000.

    Plumbing new heater

One thing I will suggest is while you have it apart, put in a single unified concrete pad. I have 2 of those worthless plastic pads and I believe that is what cause my heater core to crack. They settle at different rates. In retrospect I should have insisted on a single, cast concrete pad for...

iAqualink 2.0 Scheduling and Things Not Turning On At the Right Time

Let's see what shakes out. Maybe there might be an issue with the light transformer that is causing a delayed start. When you turn the lights on manually do they come on instantly?

    IAquaLink scheduling

Is it just a 2 speed pump? Why do you have the pool low twice with overlapping schedules. I suggest you turn the Filter pump on the entire time you want it on then change speed as needed.

Adding CYA to pool for first time

What is your water temp? Cya takes a long time to dissolve in cold water. I throw mine in the skimmer and leave it until it's dissolved.
