    Leak at light

Can't get a picture now, will try tomorrow. Not sure what caused it. It would be our luck to even have this type of leak. It's at the bottom of the light so I will see what I can get as a picture tomorrow.

    Leak at light

I didn't want to start a new thread but I didn't find one that wasn't old to add my info to. My liner seems to have a small tear at the bottom of the pool light. The individual that found it fixes pool leaks and said the water needs to be lowered so he can put sealant around the tear, inside...

Fighting Algae for over a month

Each time I test the pool is in the morning before the sun hits it and gets hot. Just been misserable here. Thanks for the links. I'm going to follow them and pay attention this time and check the over night FC, but then I know it will go down since there is green coming up when I brush. I...

Fighting Algae for over a month

I'm not new to owning a pool but this one is kicking my butt. For the past month the water has been a little cloudy and when I brush the pool I get green coming off the the surface I brush. I checked my chemicals and all are good. So I slammed it according to the pool app. Ok, great in a day...

Hayward Super Pump - Motor Replacement VS Options?

Thanks for this post. My Hayward pump is going out. Seems the previous owner didn't get a pump with the saltwater seal and it went out and is getting into the bearings. It is loud. So I just ordered a V Green pump from INYO pools along with a salt pump kit. It is great how they provide the...

    Pool Salt

The yellow bag as I posted above has Sodium Hexametaphosphate at 03%, the rest is pure salt. I got the information from its MSDS (material safety datasheet) It is my understanding is used to help keep the salt pellets from forming a bridge in your brine tank.

    Pool Salt

Ok, Thanks. Hopefully, I can keep getting the Morton's at Walmart. It is less expensive than the softener Crystal salt.

    Pool Salt

If I can't get the Pool salt at Walmart, they did have Morton salt. I was wondering it the Bright and Solf pellets would be OK to use. The only other ingredient is Sodium Hexametaphosphate at 03% The rest is Sodium Chloride at 99.97%. The Pure solar crystals seem to have some extra dirt in...

    Can't seem to lower TA

Thanks for all the advice. I'll check and see what concentration the MA I'm getting. I know Ace Hardware has it as well and is a different brand and is actually less expensive.

    Can't seem to lower TA

I've been trying to lower my TA. It is holding at 100 for some reason. PH is right at 7.5, CYA is at 60 and chlorine is at 8. The pool is a vinyl 32k inground with a sand filter. We just had the liner replaced this spring. Ever since then I can't seem to get the TA down. I've used...

    Hayward SP2602 programing question

I looked You Tube and Googled but didn't find what I was wanting. I have my Goldline SWG hooked to an Intermac timer. The pump runds 24/7. I was wanting to run the pump off the timer so that both would just turn on and off together and not run the pump all the time but from what I understand...

    SWG and variable speed pump

Jim, OK, now I understand. I'm going to see how things work out once the new liner is installed. I'll have to play with the adjustments and see how it goes. Thanks, Nick

    SWG and variable speed pump

Jim, I understand that. My question is there is no need to run the pump at a higher speed to generate chlorine for 24hrs. Isn't the whole point of a VSpump to save energy. So to run it for the needed 8 hours to turn over the pool and produce chlorine, then run at a slower speed to conserve...

    SWG and variable speed pump

Jim, This pump is all new to me. It is my understanding that the VSP is supposed to conserve energy by running at lower speeds at certain times of the day. Again, I'm use to a single-speed pump on a timer that I run basically 8 hours out of the day and off 16. If the pump runs at 1,500 rpm...
