Manual bypass with Jandy Jxi Versaflow heater

I realize this may be a stupid question but is there any value to having a manual bypass on a heater like the Jandy Jxi Versaflow that has an internal bypass? It makes sense to me but I know nothing. Trying to add one and am being told it will "create a maze of plumbing which decreases...

    Heater questions

I wouldn't say it doesn't matter but given our inability to get competitive quotes from reputable companies you're right that this may be our only option. I was hoping someone would say that the price looks reasonable. :-) I'd love to DIY but I have no idea how. LOL.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. It's a full-time job trying to find companies that have a reasonable reputation and then 99% of them don't respond to our inquiries.

Thanks. Unfortunately, that is proving next to impossible. We were able to get one other and it was cheaper, but I could find far fewer reviews on that company and what I did find was mixed and pretty much for weekly maintenance, not adding equipment.

    Heater questions

Also, how does this price look? We haven't finalized the exact heater as we would prefer low nox (don't need it in our state, but if it's better for lungs we're all for it) and I realize this is cupro nickel (it's what the pool company suggested) but what about the rest of it?

    Heater questions

Hello. I have more heater questions. We are considering a Raypak natural gas heater. I am worried about the copper heat exchanger. I realize it shouldn't cause us trouble unless we don't keep our water balanced, which we do our best to do, but if we do keep it balanced should we expect it to...

    Heater questions

Good question. We haven't thought to ask the gas company about the clearance needed. I'm not sure what the plan is for placement. More questions to ask!

It took me a couple of days but here are pictures of our pad and the gas meter. It's all in the same spot.

    Heater questions

True! I think I keep hoping there's an option with electric bills + no solar cover + blissfully warm water constantly. :-) I get that's not going to happen. I guess we need sleep on it and post pictures tomorrow. I really appreciate your help-- I have analyzed this forever to the point of doing...
