Can you use liquid chlorine after dichlor?

Can liquid chlorine be added into a pool after using dichlor to initially raise chlorine/CYA levels? Starting from a cloudy pool with no chemicals in it, we tested the alkalinity to be 100 then used muriatic acid to bring the pH down to 7.6. We then added dichlor to increase the chlorine/CYA...

    Add chlorine or let sit?

Thanks. Exactly...my goal is finding the best way to keep it from getting worse. I also brush the pool after I add the chlorine.

    Add chlorine or let sit?

Hello TFP, This is my second year with our above ground pool and we are in the middle of adding concrete around our covered area/deck of the pool. Most of the framing is done, then we pour. Our pump and filter sit on the concrete, so we have had no filtering this year, and the pool is about half...

Help deciding on new sand filter and pump

The Hayward 24" sand filter has a 62 GPM design flow rate, so am I correct in saying I need to calculate my feet of head for all the pvc piping that is running under the deck from my pool to the pump to determine the correct HP needed in my pump?

Help deciding on new sand filter and pump

Yes, I would like to keep it at a 2 speed if possible. Should have stated 2 speed instead of variable speed. Would 1HP be the correct power needed?

Help deciding on new sand filter and pump

Hello TFP, This will be my second year with my 15k gallon above ground pool. When we moved in last year and opened the pool, we had a feeling they did not care for the sand filter and pump very well (Types listed in signature). I want to start new, and am looking at purchasing the Hayward 24"...

New owner, opening with cloudy water

I didn't post my results as soon as I wanted, but thank you to everyone who helped this first time owner. About 2 weeks of SLAM and now it's perfect! Even went on vacation for a week and returned to a trouble free pool!!

    Prepping to replace pressue gauge?

Sorry, I did mean shut off the pump. I thought I remember reading to backwash before you shut off the pump if you are going to be opening it up or replacing pieces. Currently, the filter has no gauge, just a bolt where the gauge should be.

    Prepping to replace pressue gauge?

Hello FTP, I need to replace my gauge on my sand filter, Hayward SP0714T multi port. Besides shutting off the filter, what do I need to do to release the pressure? I don't see a specific release piece. Thank you!

New owner, opening with cloudy water

Thank you both for your replies. There is no crud at all, we got all that out, I just want to make sure there isn't small stuff not visible to the naked eye still on the walls or floor, so I think I will vac to filter.

New owner, opening with cloudy water

I have been brushing my pool walls and floor during SLAM, but now I would like to vacuum. I don't have debris any more, so by vacuuming I am hoping to stir up any smaller particle stuff that still might be on the floor. Should I vacuum to waste or to filter? I have a basic triangle weighted...
