Fed up with liquid chlorine and bad automation -- Looking for advice

Thanks for everyone's feedback. I really appreciate it! I think I'm going to go with the intellicenter, intelliph, and IC40. I'd also love feedback on the IC40 for my 15k pool. I do get a lot of organic matter in the pool (windy exposed location), so my chlorine demand is probably a little...

Fed up with liquid chlorine and bad automation -- Looking for advice

Can I ask what made you switch to intellicenter? Did you install it yourself? I'm guessing my current Jandy valves are compatible, but I'm curious if I have to swap them out. It's interesting that the intellicenter comes with two valves...

Fed up with liquid chlorine and bad automation -- Looking for advice

Hi All, So I'm fed up with my pool. It's too much maintenance compared to the time I have available to maintain it (_very_ busy life, unfortunately). I have no trouble spending 30 minutes on maintenance once a week, but there's basically no realistic situation where I don't neglect the pool...

    Modern Pool Automation

Hi all, When I purchased my house about 5 years ago, it had a pool with an aqualink system. I installed an iaqualink 1.0 interface, which was a step in the right direction, but it still had a horrible user interface. A few years ago I upgraded to an iaqualink 2.0 interface, which was a step in...

    Tossing out iAquaLink and controller!

I have an iaqualink as well. It has caused me lots of grief, but I haven't found anything better. I personally never use any controls other than my phone / internet. It seems like there's a huge market opportunity for a really well built pool controller that only works via internet/mobile...

    "Sticky" water after borates

Just to be clear -- this isn't a residue on surfaces. It's the water itself. If you put your hand in the water and pull it out it feels a little like you spilled soda on your hand. e.g. your joints stick together a bit. Your hand is a bit tacky.

    "Sticky" water after borates

Re: "Sticky" water after borates Hmm. I like the idea of testing in the bath tub. I really dont think it's the borax itself. Something more complicated must be going on. I'll adjust the ph though -- I'll just use some dilute MA. If I'm going to do this I'll do it right. I'll try...

    "Sticky" water after borates

I dont think it could be an additive in the borax or acid. Borax was 20 mule team. Acid was the pool acid they sell at home depot. This is really sad. I guess I need to drain and refill?

    "Sticky" water after borates

I calculate my CSI to be -0.3 currently, so I don't see how that could be the problem.

    "Sticky" water after borates

"Sticky" water after borates Help! I've got sticky water! Here's the background: For the last year or so I've been having an issue with keeping my ph under control. I've let it stay too high and haven't added enough acid. Not so terribly surprising I now have a bad calcium ring...

    Alternatives to iaqualink?

So I just disconnected my spa-side control as well as my indoor aqualink control panel. Now all I have connected via the serial bus is the pump and the iaqualink. And so far... it's working. I can actually control things. Makes me think the serial bus was overloaded. Fingers crossed that...

    Alternatives to iaqualink?

I don't think it's a wiring problem, but I certainly could be wrong. I've spent a fair bit of time trying to debug it with no luck. Furthermore the system worked nearly flawlessly for the first 6 months or so. I do suspect the hard wiring it to the internet would resolve some of the problems...

    Alternatives to iaqualink?

Hi All, I upgraded to an iaqualink (v1) about a year ago, and I've been really underwhelmed. I seem to have nonstop issues with it. Mostly software issues (Waiting for connection forever, icons not loading, things getting stuck, etc), but I'm also having hardware issues. For some reason most...

    Sterner Pump

I purchased the low pressure unit -- 45MP1 -- and I'm very happy with it. As long as you're injecting after the filter I think high pressure would be overkill. Run time for me is 3 hours per day currently. I set mine to run off one of the AUX relays in my automation system. One thing to...

Dumb question: Where is my iAqualink serial number?

I recommend reading through the manual on configuring the network interface: https://www.zodiacpoolsystems.com/~/media/Zodiac/Global/Downloads/H/H0364100.ashx To configure mine (the regular iaqualink, not the 2.0) I had to connect the network interface to my computer using the enclosed USB...
