I have an iaqualink as well. It has caused me lots of grief, but I haven't found anything better. I personally never use any controls other than my phone / internet. It seems like there's a huge market opportunity for a really well built pool controller that only works via internet/mobile...

Just to be clear -- this isn't a residue on surfaces. It's the water itself. If you put your hand in the water and pull it out it feels a little like you spilled soda on your hand. e.g. your joints stick together a bit. Your hand is a bit tacky.

I dont think it could be an additive in the borax or acid. Borax was 20 mule team. Acid was the pool acid they sell at home depot. This is really sad. I guess I need to drain and refill?

I calculate my CSI to be -0.3 currently, so I don't see how that could be the problem.

So I just disconnected my spa-side control as well as my indoor aqualink control panel. Now all I have connected via the serial bus is the pump and the iaqualink. And so far... it's working. I can actually control things. Makes me think the serial bus was overloaded. Fingers crossed that...

I don't think it's a wiring problem, but I certainly could be wrong. I've spent a fair bit of time trying to debug it with no luck. Furthermore the system worked nearly flawlessly for the first 6 months or so. I do suspect the hard wiring it to the internet would resolve some of the problems...
