Finding Calcium Chloride in the Desert

I'll keep an eye on CSI. Think I set up the link correctly. Thanks again!

Thanks for the guidance. I'll leave it be and let let it increase when the summer evaporation and refill hits.

Finding Calcium Chloride in the Desert

I will test the fill water this weekend, didn't think to test for exact numbers; I just figured it was 'higher'. It depends on how close the color is when I add the last drop. Sometimes I count it if was more solid of a color and don't if the test water is just a hue off.

Haha. In building there always seems to be a way to find a workaround to a problem.

Finding Calcium Chloride in the Desert

I was going to shoot for 250, figuring the PHX tap water would take it from there. I was just afraid of the water taking calcium from the finish while I wait if I was a tad 'low'. My home has a soft water loop, but the builder didn't have it as an option to pull from the loop vs hose bib for the...

Finding Calcium Chloride in the Desert

A question for my fellow desert rats, what do you use for calcium chloride in a place where snow is a tad scarce in order to increase calcium hardness? I haven't seen something like dowflake which is mostly all calcium chloride, which seems to be preferred reading some old posts, at homedepot or...

Chlorine consumption during winter seems to be increasing.

Quick maths seem like capital recovery is 3.5 years or so at current prices. Not terrible. I'll see what this year consumes and see if the family gets annoyed with me adding LC evey night, haha.

Chlorine consumption during winter seems to be increasing.

Yep, throw some pucks in, check every few days, here is a pool guy we partner with. Looking back I would trade some things in the build for automation and a SWG at the same price, but C'est la vie.

Chlorine consumption during winter seems to be increasing.

Ah, I think I added details to my profile but missed my signature. I hadn't really considered a SWG, the builder described them as an unnecessary luxury or option. I don't have automation, but will look into the RJ45+. There are alot of pages on SWG, I can add them to my reading list, haha. Thanks.

Chlorine consumption during winter seems to be increasing.

If this is normally I'll start trying to add some daily to see if I can get it in range when testing so I'm less reactive. Thanks!

Chlorine consumption during winter seems to be increasing.

Wow! That's like 40oz of chlorine a day come summer! I suppose I'll know my local walmart garden center folks we'll. Haha. Thanks I'll start trying to add more frequently to maintain the higher level. By comparison this is a pretty small amount it seems.
