Insight Needed: How Does This SWG /Piping Arrangement Look?

Thank you again Newdude and Texas Splash. I appreciate you taking the time to educate me. I'm not a fan of the having to find-out how long I'll need to run the SWG, but only after it is installed. I don't want to be in a situation where I install the CircuPool RJ-60, then ultimately discover...

Insight Needed: How Does This SWG /Piping Arrangement Look?

Thank you Newdude! I am going to go to a local plumbing supply store to see if they can help. Great advice. I've been thinking more about a salt water pool and have a few more questions: - How do I know how long I’ll have to run my pump for? I currently run it 6 hours a day, which I calculated...

Insight Needed: How Does This SWG /Piping Arrangement Look?

And is the piping and connectors needed available at places like Home Depot or Lowes? Or are there places that sell better/more pool-filter-specific piping? As in the photo, the piping/connectors on my pool filter are gray in color. Not sure if that is unique to particular piping brand, etc...

Insight Needed: How Does This SWG /Piping Arrangement Look?

Thank you both Texas Splash and Newdude for your replies & help! Texas Dude, I'll be certain to pay attention the connections to the black flex returns to make certain they are solid/quality connections. Great insight. And Newdude, thanks for advising that the switch shouldn't be installed on...

Insight Needed: How Does This SWG /Piping Arrangement Look?

Hi there all. I am thinking about taking the plunge and purchasing a CircuPool RJ-60 salt water generator. I used my amazing artistic talent & mocked-up the best location for it at the pool filter (sorry, but once you see my bad art...you can't unsee it! Haha.). I have two return lines. The...

Is This Adding Metals To My Water? (Pics) What Do You Recommend For A Fix?

Thanks for your help & advice, duraleigh. And great question. I'm dumb not to have addressed this. My water has copper in it. 0.1 to 0.4 or so, but these tests were done when it wasn't in solution (via the citric acid) I have the worst success with screws. I always seem to end-up buying ones...

Is This Adding Metals To My Water? (Pics) What Do You Recommend For A Fix?

Hi Hoster. Thanks very much for your helpful insight. Sorry we're both dealing with skimmer box rust issues. Boy, those photos you posted are alarming. So that entire square frame rusted? Was that behind the plastic? (I don't know what mine is...just that I see the rust on the screw heads). I...

Is This Adding Metals To My Water? (Pics) What Do You Recommend For A Fix?

Hi Ajw22. Thanks for your reply & help. I was thinking that might be my Option #4...just leave it as is. I guess my concern is that just that level of rusting could taint the water with metals. But I don't know if it takes a a big amount of rusting...or a little amount to affect the water.

Is This Adding Metals To My Water? (Pics) What Do You Recommend For A Fix?

Hey there fellow TFPers. I've facing an issue here, and just as I'm going to close the pool. But I think that may work out well, as I have to lower the water anyway. The screws holding the skimmer in place are rusting after 40 years. And yes, I tested and there is metal in my pool water. I'm...

Iron Stains: Do Ascorbic Acid + Sequestrant prior to using CuLator bag?

mknauss and JofulNoise, thank you for replying with such quality information. TFP forums have the best people. Well, at this stage...I ordered one CuLator packet/bag. So...I guess I'll have to give it a shot. Though in reading more about the ion attraction and thinking of the physical movement...

Iron Stains: Do Ascorbic Acid + Sequestrant prior to using CuLator bag?

Hi all. Happy Summer '22. I've done two partial drain & fills over the years in an effort to remove metals. But it's too costly to keep doing. So I purchased a CuLator bag, and hope to get the remaining .45 iron out of the water. This is just a question about your thoughts on the process...

What to look for that indicates your CYA Reagent has "Gone Bad"?

Well, I performed the overnight chlorine loss test per your suggestion Mdrgger88. No change/decrease in FC at all! I ran the pump for thirty minutes, collected the sample and it tested at 4ppm. Same drill done this morning, and it also tested at 4 ppm. I'm going to check/test the chlorine next.

Great suggestion, Mdrgger88. Didn't think of that, and it's a great idea.

What to look for that indicates your CYA Reagent has "Gone Bad"?

Hi Ajw22, - No, I have not done that. But that's a great idea. I'll do it tomorrow to see what I'm actually raising the FC to (half hour after adding it) - In the past I've tested the strength of my CL, and perhaps I should do it again. Good thought! - The dates is May 19 on the liquid FC I...
