    Bought a Klein Ratchet Crimper and trimmed the rings a fraction to fit - don't know how could make this any better! I'm happy with the end result and so grateful for all the input and advice!!!

    yep thats a worry - surely the freeze protection would override the schedule if the temp is low enough to activate it. Guess the only way is to go out and check when the outside temp suggests its low enough but with no display of what the pump thinks the temp is would be difficult and risky?
